  1. The DEC already has a shoot on sight, any time of the year policy with feral hogs.
  2. Heres one chambered in 260 and my first kill with it. Fox was taken at 80 yards.
  3. Youre Welcome! Yep. In a few weeks DEC will post what is going to be available. Not all zones will have leftover tags.
  4. Ive tried a bunch of different ones, and have had decent luck with all of them. I never got to put the Rage 2 to the test on a deer, as I didnt get one with the bow last year. I am making an effort to try and keep things more simple with my bow hunting, and switched back to my old reliables, Crimson Talon XTs. No mechanical stuff to fail, they fly right with my field points and punch a heck of a nasty hole through deer.
  5. Its still, the most simple full containment rest made. I get about a year out of a biscuit, then pop a new one on before the next season. They arent worn out when I replace them, if I waited until they truly wore out, I could probably get 2 years out of them. No mechanics to fail and very simple to tune and maintain.
  6. HAHAHA Glad I didnt get rid of mine and get an older style or different rest.
  7. I got my Nockturnals today and just came back in from shooting them. I got the blue ones and they work great. They are lighter than any of the other ones out there and I like the switch design rather than pull on the nock to turn it off. Just have to carry a small nail in my pocket. Ill probably just stick the nail into the foam of my quiver so its always there.
  8. Check Archerytalk.com from time to time.
  9. Somewhere around Nov 1 is when any extras will be given out.
  10. They will be giving out the leftover DMPs right before gun season starts. Not sure on the exact date, Ill see if I can find it or if its been announced yet.
  11. I spot the properties I hunt all the time. Does not seem to have any effect on deer patterns or activity.
  12. What browser are you guys using?
  13. The regional email addys and other contact info is here... http://www.dec.ny.gov/about/558.html
  14. Yep, just picked up some scent control soap and a Tree Spider Livewire today. Used another $10 certificate and another $10 off coupon. This purchase put me over to get another $10 certificate lol.
  15. You just really have to want to quit. You can say it over and over and try and convince yourself, but if you dont truly want to stop, you wont. Took me a whole bunch of trys, but I have finally been smoke free for over 2 years and running. Best thing I ever did. I drink form time to time socially and never have a craving. I am 100% repulsed by the smell anymore.
  16. Good lord, I thought I got a good deal at Dick's today for $59. I had some coupons that knocked $20 off. If I ever need a new one, Ill check there.
  17. Yep legal. I usually carry my 40 with me.
  18. I havent ordered it quite yet. Probably this week. Ive seen them, and theres not much to really comment on with them unless you actually use it.
  19. I shot lead rifled slugs out of my old Mossberg 500 rifled barrel with absolutely no issues. It was more of a pain to clean, as has been said, which was part of the reason I went to sabots.
  20. If they are washed out pics, could have something to do with time of day or lighting conditions. If they are completely white images, its most likely a software issue, and you should contact WGI. There might just be a software update they can walk you through installing.
  21. Ask on Archerytalk.com Ill bet you find something there. Look on ebay as well.
  22. Here is the harness laid out and the small, detachable bag next to it. The bag is for keeping your lineman's belt/step loop handy. The step loop is for taking the pressure off of your lower body to allow blood to flow back up from your legs if you need to be suspended for a while. Ill be using a Tree Spider Livewire, which is an automatic decent system, so I wont need to bother with the step loop. Here is the buckle system that makes it so easy and fast to put on or take off. These pics also show the quality of the stitching on the harness. Here is one of the leg straps and buckles The harness also features padded support areas to make it more comfortable and keep the straps from pinching you when you are suspended. Heres a shot of the safety strap, which is longer than most and has more shock absorption built into it than most others. Heres a shot of the back of it, you can see more padded areas and also the vented areas to allow plenty of air flow. There is also a handle on your lower back for someone to grab if they are helping you back into your stand. I have yet to see that feature on any other harness system. The red loops are for the lineman's belt/foot loop This may not be the lightest harness system out there, but the quality is impressive and Id rather have the nice features than a pound or so less weight.
  23. After using this harness a bunch with setting ladder stands and practicing from stands, I love it. Its very comfortable and super fast and easy to put on and take off. I havent used the linemans belt yet, but will be when I set my hang ons this weekend. Pics are uploading right now and Ill post them shortly.
  24. So I almost forgot to write up on it after Ive used it a time or two. This product works pretty darn good. Ive put up a couple of single ladder stands with it, and it made it really easy. The biggest issue is the roots of the tree, but you only need to get maybe 3 inches into the soil for them to work just fine. One tip is to make sure the notched out sides are both facing the same way. They are small enough to throw right in my backpack when Im heading out to put up a stand. I feel that they were well worth the $30.
