    Deer dont cause the problem? You should spend more time on and around farms. The farmer next door to me is loosing thousands in crop damage this year between his corn and beans. The deer have mowed his beans down to only 7 or 8 inches tall at the most. The outer 6 feet of corn along every edge but the road edge, is ruined. Every single cob has been half eaten. There has been other damage from bears and birds, but deer have done a number.

    Probably be a mix of fields, woods and maybe swamp. Id ask him for some idea of what to expect, maybe help you get an aerial map of it on Google maps.

    I dont use the commercial stuff, I use scents from lolcal deer farms.\ Ill have to remember the name of the place I get it from. I buy it at the bow shop I use.

    It used to be 2 or 3 times the size it was this year. I always park right across the street. Easier with the baby.

    This is right on a large trail that enters the swamp and cuts through the woods and dumps into 2 different corn fields. I have my eye (and cam) on a better spot right now. We will see what turns up in the next week.

    Suck to hear that. Security locks can sometimes deter people. I keep all of my stuff locked up. Muzzyloader, if that stuff is going on, a few calls and encounters with state troopers ought to put an end to it.

    Well, I didnt think this event could get any smaller than last year. I was wrong. No venison jerky guy, and I didnt bother standing in the looooooong line for the buffalo burgers. All I walked away with was 2 jars of Nunda Mustard and a couple of lollipops for my daughter and I bought some raffle tickets from the guys at Deer Search. I doubt Ill bother going next year, the event wasnt worth the $5 parking I paid for.

    I dont glue my nocks in. If they spin easily or fall out easily, buy some new ones and put them in. They are fairly cheap. The reason I dont glue them is because nocks get broken sometimes and are easily replaced. If you glue them, and break them, the arrow is shot.

    I might if it was hit in the head/neck and I had seen it happen. If it was hit like they normally are, along the body or in the rear, no way. Not worth my time to pick out the little bit of good meat.

    After a 2 week sit, I pulled my cam today and got a ton of pictures of nothing. The tree I had put it on was small and the wind made it almost wear my batteries down completely. I had 600 + pics from 2 windy days lol. Oh well, lesson learned. I did get some good ones, no bruisers this time, but alot of daytime activity in this spot.

    Right, but it says as long as it does not project a visible beam of light. The Leupold range finder he has does project a visible laser for sighting in, which is what was being questioned. Always better to check and make sure rather than assume and end up with a ticket.

    Yes I know. I said the print probably was not authentic, as in it had been tampered with.

    Look closely, thats a 10 point. On the left side there is clearly a brow and 4 points, and if you look really close on the right , it appears to be a brow and 4 points. The G4 is tough to see, but you can barely see the tip of it. Id say its a decent 3 year old, and will be a monster next year if he doesnt get taken this year. Good luck with him.

    I always bring a little something with me, even if Im just sitting a few hours. I like to bring some granola bars, a small bag of crackers or some mixed nuts or trailmix. For all day sits, Ill bring a sandwich and some extra snacks. To drink, Ill bring a bottle of water and another of apple cider usually.

    Agreed Doc, I love this time of year but hate knowing that the drudgery of dealing with snow is right around the corner.
