Been running them for years now. Heres the best video Ive captured yet (as far as sound goes), and I assure you, this is the original video file, no editing done at all. Turn the sound up!

I check mine each summer when I tighten/replace ratchet straps. I also carry a couple of spares in my backpack. I have so much of that line laying around, it isnt even funny.

A big furball?

We had 2 mature bucks similar to that on the farm last year. I know one didnt make it, as we found his skull during a drive. I missed a shot on the other one a few days after that. Neither of them appeared to have injuries, but who knows. I have heard in the past that theres something that some deer have/get that shows up in cracks or something in their skulls that can cause that. I cant remember the details offhand.

I dont figure equipment costs in other than implements that are specifically for the plots. Id have my tractor, etc anyway. I just put fuel, seed, fert, spray materials into the cost. I have less than $300 into my plots this year.

No, Im not leaving it visible to make anything easier for them, its my stuff on my property, noone should be touching it. Suggesting otherwise is nothing but making an excuse for someone doing something they shouldnt be. We arent talking about leaving my windows in my car open in a parking lot at the store.

So anything that’s on MY property that’s not locked up in my house, garage or barn is open invitation for people to mess with, damage or steal it? Are you kidding me? I know all that I need to about you at this point. Have a nice day.
-
Yes it’s poaching, and trespassing. It’s illegal to mess with other people’s trapped animals. Ill ask you the same question I asked Earlier, do you make sure that all of your hunting activities are out of possible view of anyone else? If not, what you just stated is hypocritical.

Glad to hear you are on the mend Eddie. I was Getting worried because you hadn’t been on in a while and I know you had some other health issues a while back. I e been dealing with something similar all year with my dad. In February he had a massive stroke and we didn’t find him for 5 days. Not hearing from him for a few days was pretty normal at that time. When we found him, he was barely hanging on. He was in the hospital and a rehab facility for a couple of months. He now lives with my sister, just down the road. Since he got out it’s been a steady series of hospital stays, he can’t do much for himself, and he’s very unhappy. He’s at Thompson right now in fact, was pretty close to dying last night. He has COPD, congestive heart failure, and now pneumonia, and he can’t sleep because he just stops breathing. We all said goodbye to him last night, he was that close. He’s far from out of the woods still. I’m heading back to the hospital shortly. Ive never seen my dad scared like he has been. His attitude has changed a lot since February. Near death experiences really do make people look at things differently. Again, I’m glad to hear you are still with us. Keep in touch my friend.

I did. His original post was deleted, but some of the guys took screen shots and won’t let him off the hook about it. Just do a search for his username and you’ll find posts about it.

I looked On AT. Post was from last year.

So poaching and trespassing aren’t big deals? Gotcha.

If you buy archery and muzzleloader, you get 1 either sex and 1 doe tag. If you buy just muzzleloader (covers crossbow), you get an either sex. For me, I get 4 DMPs (Im in WMUs that hand them out like candy), my regular season buck tag (turns to either sex for late ML season if I didnt use it already), my bow/ml either sex, my bow/ml doe permit which makes 7. Then I can have 2 DMPs signed over to me, bringing the total to 9. On top of that, one of the farms I hunt gets DMAPs, of which I can use 2, so my final total could be 11 deer.

So then you should be making sure that none of your turkey or bird hunting is done in an area where anyone could possibly see it happening as well. Right?

This guy should be lambasted and PA DNR made aware.

Seems to be just the tops, but they could be yanking them out and eating the whole thing and I wouldnt know. There are red and white acorns all over the place, untouched. -
It’s an either sex tag.

Today I hung 2 more stands, used the weed whacker to clean up about half of my trails, raked all of the sticks and old leaves off of trails going to all but 1 stand and checked up on the plots. My brassica plot looked pretty low when I was driving up, so I checked It and it looks like the deer are hitting it really hard already. I forgot To get a containment cage in and now I’m kicking myself. There’s no way this plot is going to last into late season. I’ve never had brassicas get hit this hard this early. I also did some glassing this evening. Saw 2 of my “hit listers” and another buck that’s on Haley’s radar feeding in a hay field down the road This coming weekend I have 1 more double set to hang, and I’ll check my cams 1 last time before season starts. I’ve put a lot of work I to This place this summer. Almost time to enjoy all of my work! -
Putting in new food plots
WNYBuckHunter replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Been out doing some final trail cleanup, hanging a few stands and stuff today. Both plots look great. Lots of nice golf ball sized turnips and some daikon radish that are 8-9” long. The deer have been hammering the plot. I’ll het some pics this afternoon. -
I bought a new piece this year and have been working hard on it all summer. It’s been a lot of work, but I’m really looking forward to hunting my little slice of heaven this season. I am Actually backing out of one property I have access to for the most part this year. Too many issues with other hunters there, and it’s become more work to deal with than I have time for. I’ll do a bit of ground based hunting there, and use it to keep some pressure off of better ground.

Please remember, just like past DMP swap threads, this is trade or give away only. Selling DMPs is illegal. There will be no discussions in this thread, only relevant posts. All others will be removed.
