Sure it had been shot and not hit by a car or something like that? Id think any really good sign of a shot would be long gone by now on any deer shot durring the season. Ive found some carcasses laying in various areas while shed hunting and predator hunting the last couple of weeks, and you cant tell how they met their end. Well, except the ones right by the road, but they can run a ways after being hit by a car.

I have a pocket fisherman.....

Do you wear Orange? If so why? If not Why not? :)

Crossbows are not legal to use on coyotes. When it becomes legal for use next season in NY, it will only be legal for deer, not anything you want to use it on. At least from what I have read about the law.If you have something that says otherwise, Id love to see it. -
theres alot of guys out there willing to throw their money at a hunt rather there own personal time and effort to "Hunt". i guess when the success rate is more on your side with a fenced in guided operation, it tends to attract a specific kind of person willing to partake and pay for it i guess... from what i hear the market for it is doing pretty well however, it has its own breed of clientele. The market for such hunts is doing just fine. In fact, there is a guy with 200 - 300 acres of land that is currently in the middle of fencing it all in with a 10 foot fence, in which he is going to sell hunts for big, farm raised deer that he already has. Ive been watching the progress, as I go by the place almost every day. Its literally right around the corner from my place. I just hope that the existence of the place doesnt attract a bunch of people to the area thinking they might shoot an escapee or something.

Same thing could happen if you shot a deer with your bow while it was next to a house. -
I know, I was just commenting on what Backstrapper said. Then I got on a tangent about taking that shot at a deer lol. I know that in many archery tournaments, they shoot 100 yards.

My thoughts exactly. Those two "pretty good shots" are wounded deer. Also, the sound of that bow is gonna out run the arrow and the deer has plenty of time to jump the string. Nothing about that video makes me want to even think of taking a shot at a deer at that range. Also, how many takes were there before he actually hit the deer all three times? The world may never know....

So its no longer for sale then?

There is a way to make the butane canisters refillable. Ill see if I can dig up the info. -
A boar hunt I would do, anything else I would donate or sell.

The instructor is 100% correct. In a perfect world, we would all make perfect shots every time. Unfortunately, thats not what happens. Acting like a brainless hill billy and video taping it for the world to see is just plain stupid and immature. Defending it is telling. VJP, I too agree.

I dont think ranch or fenced hunts should be outlawed, I wouldnt participate in a preserve deer hunt or elk hunt, Id rather go after the wild versions. At the same time, Im not gonna call someone a scumbag for doing it, but Im not gonna say they hunted the deer they killed there. Im pretty sure the original post was spam, but I thought you guys would have fun with it lol.

I always get good deals there, you just gotta work them, and it might take a couple of stops back to their table. Ill be there Sunday at some point, I have a couple of things on my list to pick up.

I split this out of the topic, because it has all the makings of a great thread on its own. : I guess to be a "True Hunter", you need to pay top dollar shoot deer on a preserve and then take days to track it down inside an enclosure after you shot it, huh?

I hear ya on the smoked stuff. Now that I have everything I need to grind and stuff the meat, Im going to get an electric or propane cabinet smoker for making the smoked stuff and just do it in small batches. I could put it in the barn or basement and run a temporary chimney outside for it. I just got tired of paying others to do something else I could do myself lol.

12 year old shot dead by playmate
WNYBuckHunter replied to rebal's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
100% correct, the best gun you could have for home defense is a pump shotgun with 00 buckshot. Out and about though, Ill take my chances with my handgun rather than nothing at all.
