  1. West Grand lake area. Buddy has a camp on a island on that lake.
  2. Fantastic. Glad you're excited. I'll be in Maine last week of September to help a buddy of mine on his moose hunt. Post lots of pics. Looking forward to seeing them.
  3. I put my pork butts, brisket wrapped in a towel and into a cooler. FTC( foil, towel, cooler). I do vent the foil for a couple minutes before wrapping it back up.
  4. Get yourself a remote thermometer like a Maverick, or a igrill2. Probes for meat temp and for grate temps. My vertical propane door therm was WAY off. I was cooking much hotter than I thought I was.
  5. At 225 it should take about 8-10 hrs. However, you can smoke it till a internal of 160, wrap in foil and finish in the oven at a higher temp, saving a few hrs.
  6. Those look hard horn.
  7. Gosh it seems a little early, but seen a spike mostly free of his velvet while heading to a clients property. Usually I see the mature bucks cleaned off before the youngsters.
  8. So tuff making that decision. You will meet again on the rainbow bridge.
  9. Yes, a sideways campfire. Keep forgetting this site can't figure out how to make photos normal.
  10. Kitchen renovation scraps doing double duty.
  11. This is the ultimate fire pit. Cousin has a party every yr. This fire pit is 13' across. Made from 1/4" culvert pipe.
  12. STOP. No more pics. PLEASE STOP. I can't take it anymore. I really want that whitetail welcome sign. But I also want the bear welcome sign. My head is going to explode.
  13. By the old standard, ya. But it's still concerned a 1 ton. You'd think the F550 would be called a 2 ton, but I've never heard someone refer to them as that.
  14. That may have been true 30 yrs ago, not now. My f350 has over 5000 lbs of payload
  15. Absolutely. There's more to the numbers then towing. Lot of half tons claim to tow impressive numbers, 11k +. However the payload # is low. Hook up a 11k camper, and most likely your close to, or over the payload.
  16. If you've got kids, or working on having kids, a CC is handy. My last to trucks were Ram 3500 CC. 99% of the time those rear seat were empty. Well, lots of "stuff" but rarely had people back there. Just bought a Ford f350 super cab. Long bed. Yes I lost cab space, if someone had to ride back there they can, but I gained bed length. Missed the 8' bed on the Rams. The reason I didn't want a CC with the long box, is for plowing, it would be too damm long.
  17. Don't wanna know where the other hat is hanging.
  18. I spray my decks with fluid film. I sharpen my blades every Monday, and re apply. Very little buildup.
  19. No friggin way. So opposed to anything do do with cigarettes or cigar's. If you smoke anything, you're not invited.... Period.
  20. Yes, but I wonder if they would have been protected?? If so, we wouldn't have so much fun chasing them in the spring.
  21. 20 hp is too small for a 5'er. I had a old Mitsubishi 22 hp that handled a 4' fine. Can't help with the conversation.
  22. Ya, there's 3-4 hens. First time I seen them in my yard in a while, but I see em across the street in the field all the time. Also have a band of 7 Jake's in the area.
  23. Had about 30 in my yard this morning. Few hens with their poults are flocked together. Poults looked like a good size. Didn't see em for long as my dogs seen em too.
