    Baiting help

Just toss a bunch of apples under some pine trees. When DEC finds it, just tell them it's a pineapple tree.
  2. It's getting closer. Good luck... I'm leaving Saturday morning around 4:30. Got everything packed. Video camera is charged and ready to go. I'm just the muscle to get the moose out if successful. We're in zone 19. In the Grand lake stream area. No cell service there, so can't post any pics till I get home. Buddies Camp is very rustic. No power or running water. It's on a 1/4 acre island on the back side of west Grand lake. Even though I'm not hunting, I'm so looking forward to this trip. Hopefully we'll fill both tags.
  3. That statement sums it up perfectly. Can't pinpoint anything other than getting engaged, and enjoying the area both of you want to move to, then that statement. . What a spectacular way to express how much you love each other, and the area you're visiting. By far, the best thread I've ever seen, besides me taking my grandnephews out for there first turkeys and deer. Sorry, as awesome as this thread is, both of you are second fiddle to those boys. Lol.
  4. Now that looks like a perfectly cooked steak.
  5. Couple weeks ago I was mowing a client's lawn, and parked my running mower directly over a ground nest. Could get back on it as the bees were swarming the mower. Got a stick and pushed the control handle in to stall the mower, then hooked a strap to my other mower to get it away from the nest. Got stung 3 times in the process.
  6. Perfect campfire temps. I hope the temps stay cool for the moose hunt.
  7. Yes, east of moosehead. In the West Grand Lake area. Buddy owns the whole island on the back side of the lake. Probably 1/4 of acre. No other camps on the island. Obviously, it's easier access during the winter ( been going there ice fishing for almost 20 yrs) never been there during open water. So what have the low temps been?.
  8. Fantastic pics. It's obvious your having too much fun, lol. BTW, what's the temps been at night. Leaving Saturday the 21st to help out my cousin and buddies son if they happen to connect on a moose. I'll take pics, but where were going, there's no cell service. I'll post pics when I get home.
  9. Yes they did. Couldn't get any closer than 40' when it really got cooking.
  10. This is the type of weather where a campfire is needed... Hopefully, I'll have a couple this weekend.
  11. I also hunt this area. Maybe I'll see them throughout the season.
  12. Was mowing a client small field today, and with just a couple swipes left, a hen a 5-6 poults flushed. The poults were no larger than a quail. Never seen poults this small this late in the yr. Unless we have a mild winter, or a full bird feeder to visit, I doubt they will make it through the winter.
  13. Another good reason I not on FB, lol.
  14. The fifth side must be the roof. Assuming that's on FB?
  15. Excellent trap gun. I shot a lot of trap in the late '80's to mid '90's. Used a buddy's BT 99 and BT 99+ many times. Got my best scores using those shotguns. If I was still shooting, I be making a offer.
  16. That's fantastic. I lost 200lbs 10 yrs ago. Good friend of mine said,, Rob took a shit, and this is what's left. Nice guy, lol.
  17. Bionic, first, CONGRATS.. Second, keep the pics coming. Love Maine. Have some very good friends in Maine. I've never been to moosehead lake during open water. Always ice fishing or snowmobiling. I can't show my wife this thread, because she'll say something like " why couldn't you be that romantic" lol. What a great way to start the next chapter in your lives. I so happy for you two. Almost had a tear in my eye.... it was dust, honest. Lol.
  18. Looks like he noticed the camera. Seems to be looking directly at it in second pic.
  19. Time with the kiddos is priceless. Good job. . Nice load of fish. Lake Ontario?
  20. Well that stinks... Literally. I've had a few in live traps. Big blanket held in front, and slowly walk towards cage. Lower blanket onto cage. Never had one spray, yet, lol.
  21. she'll probably sell a bunch of em. Why, I don't know, but lots of weirdos out there.
  22. Oh ya, so easy and soooooo gooood. But we need a sliced, and sammy pic. With cheese and mustard.
  23. Sounds like they exhausted all avenues to place him somewhere before relocation. Tuff situation fish and game were in. Probably more worried about the elk hurting someone when the rut kicks in.
  24. Thinking about getting a 9.5' XV2 for my Ford F350. Anyone running one? Previously ran Hiniker V plows, but want something different.
  25. My profile pic was takin from the camp window. We go up there every winter to do some ice fishing.
