A 15 yr old ATV with 1300 miles can have a lot of issues quickly. Seals dry and start leaking, axle boots, Carb issue ect. To each their own. I use my ATV. It doesn't sit at the trail because I might scratch it. Double the price for new over a 15yr old ATV seems like a no brainier to me. But if someone only has $2500 to spend, I get it.

But hunters are nothing but beer drinking blood thirsty killers. Glad those guys happened along. What a cool experience and memory to have.

Sounds like a fun project. Check regs if riding in other states. Radiator mod to the rack might not be legal.

Don't not shoot something because of what some others say. If you want to shoot, then do it. I'm not a trophy hunter. I've never had a "target" buck. I've let nice bucks walk because I was more in the woods to decompress then to shoot, only to take a spike a few days later. Shoot what makes you happy, not what makes others happy.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd had a tuff time paying that much for a 15 yr old wheeler. I was in the same situation this spring. Looked at a dozens of used ATVs, both private and dealer. Ended up buying new during Polaris spring deal. Paid less for a new sportsman 570 then most decent used were selling for. If I remember correctly, Polaris had $1250 off, and dealer took $500. Quad was $6200 - $1750 = $4450. Add the freight and prep, think it was $750, total was $5200. I purchased it in MA, and I only use it on my property, so I had no tax as I do not plan to register it even though king Andy says I have to.

All depends on the area and what crops are around. No corn, no beans, ECT it could help. But if it's a great mast crop, and there's a lot of oaks, hickory, apple, ECT, it might hurt instead of help because they might visit a quieter plot. If the cut area has only oaks, hickory in the area, game on.

15 yrs ago or so, I would have shot that one horn spike. But like you I end up watching deer instead of shooting. I'm by no means a trophy hunter, or only hunt the biggest in my area. Never had a "target" buck. Something about sitting back and watching the critters do their thing is amazing. Hopefully, your next sit is as enjoyable as the last.

Buddy of mine made jerky out of a bunch of ducks. Reaching in the bag was like playing Russian roulette with your taste buds. If you picked a merganser piece, you lost.

I have one of the hoist that fit in the hitch receiver. It has a manual boat winch to lift the deer. It works great.

I live 2 minutes from Jackson's. Nice place, little pricey but good food.

Couldn't tell the size of buck as it was getting rather dark, seen a deer chasing another throughout the field. She would zigzag and he was doing his best to stay on her. Wife and I watched from the car for several minutes until it got to dark to see them.

That's awesome. Congrats to both of you and the pups. They will soon realize how lucky all of you are. Note to self...... Do not bring the wife to SD res. She couldn't stop at two. Lol.

I've watched a buck lay flat as a bow hunter on the adjoining property walked within 30 yrds of it. Wasn't in a field though, but rather open hardwoods. As soon as he passed, the buck went in the direction the hunter came from. Which wasn't in my direction.

Didn'tDidn't know 3 of em. Only 54 tho. Lol But my wife, who is "almost" 50. She really hates when I say that, lol, scored the same.
