Cool photos. Dad didn't save any photos of him overseas. I do have one of him in his uniform that I believe was taken at boot camp. I had it copied, and framed in a American flag Christmas tree ornament.

Been here 14 yrs. Had one walk on the bed rail of my truck bed after I had a deer in it the night before. My dumpster was overturned a couple times and garbage was everywhere. But I never see one at the house before. Didn't stick around long as the dogs were going ballistic. Good sized bear too. Bigger than I've taken. Didn't get a pic because I didn't have my phone with me as I thought the dogs probably seen a chipmunk. Lol

Seen a few while mowing clients lawns. First one was on the 18th. Seeing lots of does in fields during the middle of the day all alone. On the farm I hunt, the owner was cutting one of his fields. A doe a running around frantically. Hopefully the little ones jumped up and ran in time.

I've taken so many turkeys over the years, if I can't eat it, it gets tossed. If I knew people that needed to wing and tail feathers, I'd definitely pass those on.

Really want to go out, but I'm doing a pool fence tomorrow and Sunday. I know if I get up tomorrow morning or Sunday morning, the fence won't get done. Monday. The smoker will be fired up. I need stick burner therapy. Lol.

My smoker will have brisket, ribs, two whole turkeys and some pork butts. I'm cooking for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The food will be vac sealed, and throughout the year, I'll honor those men and women by having a meal in there memory. You can still BBQ, and honor those brave heroes.

Two yrs ago a friend of mine thumped a tom. Within seconds of the shot, a fox grabbed it and started dragging it off. He sat there stunned for a few seconds then ran at the fox and scared it off.

One of the reasons I started this post... Was in home Depot.. I noticed a gentleman wearing a Vietnam war hat. He was walking arm and arm with his wife and I think they were both helping each other from falling. I stopped both of them and said " sir I see your wearing a VW hat. I don't remember his exact answer, but he answered by telling me his unit, troop, and whatever info he deemed necessary. I said sir I thank you for your service. You in my book are a hero, but those you've left behind, I really can't thank.. you I can. He took a step back and saluted me. The only tears were in mine and his wife's eye's. He was a solid as a teenager. Both gave me a hug, and said thanks for making there day.

Sorry for your loss. Your so correct it's not a "happy" day. It's a day to reflect and to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

To all our heroes, past, present and future... Thank you.

Bolts are out skating the caps. If this continues, TB will win. Especially if goalie can't control and hold the puck. Too many opportunities after the shot.

I made pens. The machines were a foot operated press of sorts. If you were to quick with your foot,or too slow removing your fingers after putting whatever piece on there, you got some sore fingers. That and I would get wicked Charlie horses every night from pushing that dam petal a couple hundred dozen times a day. 2nd was in a cabnet shop. You weren't allowed to talk to your coworker. The theory was talking would slow you down and production would suffer. Lasted there a week before I left for lunch and never returned.

I plan on going out at least once. So much work to do for clients, that I'm not sure I'll be able to get up more than once this weekend. I'm old... Lol. But my nephew might be able to get me out of bed a couple times.
