  1. Beef ribs, SLR, pork shots, and trying TF's wild turkey bites. All going on the stick burner tomorrow. Never smoked beef ribs, so I'm hoping they come out ok. There not huge, and little fat, so not too confident.
  2. I would like one of those. But for now my bush hog will have to suffice. How much HP is required to run o e of those? Does a 5' flail require the same HP as a standard hog?
  3. I recommend changing the gear oil before using it.
  4. Yes. Do them frequently. Don't over smoke. Ground meat takes the smoke quicker than a solid chunk. I typically do 1 1/2 hrs tops then cover to finish cooking.
  5. Thats too cool. Better than the pic my wife sent me of one raiding my dumpster.
  6. Love smoked Mac n cheese. Got one planned to go with this weekends dino ribs .
  7. Picking up a rack of dino beef ribs Thursday. Never smoked em before because I could never find a decent rib. I found a custom butcher in Saratoga area that guaranteed I will get what I'm looking for. Said he will have the entire rib plate for me to choose the cut I want. Hopefully I'm not disappointed. I'll probably smoke these on the pellet grill, as I not looking forward to tending a fire for 10 hrs in 90*+ heat.
  8. 1. My late nephew's 870 we camoed back in 1996. He died in '97. His brother took his first turkey in 2001 with his brothers shotgun. His kids(my grandnephews) took there first birds with that same 870. 2. My dad's Winchester .22 semi auto he purchased new two weeks after getting home/discharged from the army in 1943 for multiple wounds during battle. 3. My TC pro hunter SS, camo chambered in 7mm08.
  9. I agree with daveboone. Tuff to tell, but it definitely isn't a cub... I'd be happy to take him.
  10. I was mowing a client's lawn last week and came across a fawns head in the lawn. Didn't see any other bones. So sad....
  11. 15 min after I left this morning, my wife sends me this. She watched him take 3 bags out of the dumpster. I found one all tore up... The other two.... No clue how far away those are.
  12. Will this fit the pro hunter? If so how's the bore? Any pitting?
  13. Thanks.. I'll definitely give it a try.
  14. I'd eat 'em... I'm still trying to find or make a rub that I think is perfect. Lot of good ones out there, and I've mixed up a few different ones I found online, but there always seems like theres something missing. What did you use?
  15. I think it's a damm good first attempt. Did you add anything when you wrapped? I add a little brown sugar and honey on top. A tiny bit of OJ and wrap tightly. I might add a little sauce the last hr if I think it needs it. Try different techniques till you find what you like.
  16. Just looked up that model. Looks like a good unit. I'd try to freezes solid the chunks of fat. Grind with a course plate. Re freeze while you clean the head. Cool the head in ice water as you Mix the frozen ground fat to meat and grind ASAP.... Adding ice water as u go helps to. Good luck.
  17. How old is the knife and plate? Has it been sharpened? If the knife doesn't stay in contact with the plate, it will gum up. Are you freezing( not partially) the chunks of fat and grinding them separately? What grinder to u have?
  18. It sounds like you're grinder knife and plate need sharping If on the first grind it's coming out mushy. Or your not tightening the locking ring enough??? I never double grind my ven sausage. Use a medium plate. Place grinder head in the freezer, and use ice water as needed.
  19. Very nice. If you like egg salad, try making some with those smoked eggs...
  20. Ok... That sounds excellent. I'll check it out.
  21. Oh boy... Smoked deviled eggs... And scallops. Got bacon for those scallops?
  22. Love smoked pork chops. So good. Yours look spot on.
  23. He didn't give a inch on his position, weather it was for the " right side" or the wrong side. Liked him for that. But I suspect the lefties are celebrating.
  24. Then do not get a Z turn. I run two toro 6000 series every day. One with a 60" the other a 72". As mentioned, they do one thing and do it well..... Mow lawns. Get a larger garden tractor. Or maybe a quad with a pull behind mower.
