  1. You should be... I hope MOST realize the ironic nature of my post. But also realistic.
  2. Chef, do what you think is best. I'll bet you every one of these " leagle eagles" have violated some law and didn't bother to report themselves. Illegal is lllegal correct??? So how many of you righteous game law abiding people have broken the speed limit? Did you turn youself in?? No!!!! Shame on you you law breakers. Or, maybe a rolling stop instead of a complete stop. Still illegal, but you did it. Shame, shame, shame. Don't even say it's different.. illegal is lllegal after all.
  3. Sorry... I truly believe that most of the " illegal is illegal crew has done something in there lives weather it's game related or a traffic violation that's illegal. If there so vocal to bash someone for violating ANY game law weather it's a squirrel or deer, then they should turn themselves in for doing 56mph in a 55 mph zone. There's no difference. You broke the law... Shame on you. Don't say it's different... The law is the law.. PERIOD. Weather it's a traffic violation or game law, it's the same thing. Soooo, how many of these " game law" followers are law breakers in different fields?

    Finally

I'm usually done doing spring cleanups by now. Have at least 8 more. Going to be tuff getting those done, take the grandnephews out scouting and hunting this weekend and get our place ready to put on the market. It will be worth it when we hear that first gobble on Saturday morning.
  5. Last yr on this date it was in the 70's, and the next was almost 90* in my area. Flocks were all broken up and brids were visible in the fields through the day and relatively easy to pattern. This yr!!!!! Temps didn't get out of the 30's, today and had sleet and freezing rain. Haven't seen a turkey in the last 3 days in my hunting area. Temps on this coming Saturday are supposed to" climb" into the 50's and be clear. Going to be interesting to say the least. Could be very challenging to get any response, or we could get run over by a horny tom as soon as he hears a single call hoping to be the first to service a willing hen. Hopefully it's the latter...
  6. Out of a unlocked foot locker.
  7. So sad. I'm watching Full Metal Jacket to honor his life and service to our country.
  8. Had 3 window units going all the time. Electric bill was outrageous. Put in CA and our bill dropped considerably. I have a good friend who is in the business, so I PD cost for the parts, and labor was free. Think the parts cost were around $2300.
  9. Seeing it's Friday the 13th, I was a little concerned about what I might see.
  10. Resist the urge to use any turkey calls. Don't want to educate them.
  11. I like my crow call works reasonable well during the day. The owl hooter, the barrel type I don't have as much luck with compared to the Reed type owl call. Much louder and more realistic then the barrel type. IMO, The owl call works much better during the mornings then during the day or evening roosting. I used to hunt a place in the Catskills, and can still remember the toms getting all worked up by the early morning owls.
  12. Interested in this also. Just purchased a 2500# winch for my landscape trailer. Thinking of swapping out the cable for the rope. Guess the rope will stretch?????
  13. I agree. But I needed one now. Weighed my new gate and it was 279#. No way could I lift that gate 5-10 times a day. Added the gorilla lift, and it's a two fingers operation. I expect the rollers and cables to go bad within the yr, but I can replace them with little cost with better components.
  14. I rebuilt the gate on my landscape trailer. Old one was shot. Well this thing is built to last. However, it weighs a ton. I'm getting old, and picking that thing up several times a day is going to kill me. Anyone have a gorilla lift? The only review I can find is from a 10 yr old thread from lawnsite and he wasn't pleased.
  15. Never had walleye. Ice fished Oneida yrs ago, but only caught a couple small ones. Long drive for me.
  16. I was cleaning out a clients rental, and they left 4 older style tv's. I had a 20 yrd can delivered. Put them on the bottom of the can and covered them with the other crap Tennant's left. Couple days after the can was picked up, my CC was charged $25.00 for each TV.
  17. I get what you're saying, but I also like using venison in different dishes that normally use beef. My wife "likes" venison, but only if she doesn't know it's venison. So how is it a "waste" if it gets used and enjoyed? I love the unmolested taste of venison, but it's better for us then store bought beef, so if I can use it in dishes she likes I will. The only waste of venison, is one that's shot and not recovered. If it's in the freezer, and gets eaten, no matter what the recipe is, it hardly a "waste". Maybe it helps that I don't suck at hunting, and have a ample supply of venison.
  18. Stuffed peppers. Stuffing was ground venison, some diced onions, parmesan cheese, marinara sauce and a pinch of oregano. Toped it with some of my smoked pepper jack for the last few minutes to melt. Smoked on my pellet pooper @ 225* for about 2.5 hrs until the pepper was soft. Great smoke flavor, and will be doing these again. Wife had no clue it was venison lol.
  19. 3rd batch buttered popcorn made. Had to get another pound of butter tho. Like my pcorn swimming in butter.
  20. Making 2nd batch of popcorn. Running out of butter tho.

    Scared?

Out of all the bowhunters I know, only a handful have purchased a crossbow including myself. 2 used to bow hunt, but stopped, but not for health reasons. I only know of 1 gun hunter who started crossbow hunting. I, along with 3 others did purchase one for health reasons. Fall cleanups, (lawn care owner), wipe my shoulder out. By the time Nov hits, I'm sometimes lucky to pull my 42# bow back once. I continue to use my vertical as long as I can, but like the option of grabbing the x-bow if I need to.
  22. Making lots of popcorn for this one....lol

    Scared?

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one...
