  1. My mom loved cardinals. The day she passed in 2004 we had a male cardinal fly repeatedly into the living room window. Bought our current home in 2018. Every spring, there is a male cardinal that repeatedly flies into our garage window where my smoker is parked. My smoker has been named Elizabeth Ann in honor of my mom since I purchased it in 2014.
  2. That's the one I was thinking about getting. They have a in-line and a off line model.
  3. Opossums don't eat ticks. Matty has already posted the link to a study supporting just that.
  4. What chlorinator do you use? Getting a floater with the pool, but thinking about adding a Hayward chlorinator.
  5. If I was lucky enough to get a P&Y or B&C buck I'd enter it. It would probably be the only one though after that I really wouldn't care, unless it was a top 3 contender. Hell, the money from sponsors would be nice. if this doesn't get me banned, nothing will. Lol.
  6. Obviously her supervisors feel differently.
  7. So, those that have a pool, what are you using to clean it. This comes with a brush and a skimmer/net thingie. No vacuum. Do I need to get a manual vac? Or is it worth the cost for a robot vacuum?
  8. My stepdaughter just graduated with her master's this May in hospital administration. She put out feelers in her field. She took a offer close to 100k and can work from home whenever she wants.
  9. Well, it's ours. Install could be as early as middle of next week. Got all the info needed for electrical code. Biggest PITA is bonding the system. I'll post pics once it's installed.
  10. Electric isn't difficult. Pool requires a dedicated 110/20amp GFI outlet 6' from the pool. I already have a 20amp cutoff box and the wire.
  11. Yes, were on a well. Never had a issue, but 11,000 gal is a lot of water.
  12. I contacted the company that sold the pool and installed it. Cost for them to install is $1500, and probably another $1000 for water. So $2500 for a new pool doesn't seem too bad. I'm sure extending my deck to the pool is not going to be cheap, but we can use the stairs it came with for this season, and hope lumber prices drop some by next spring.
  13. Client has a above ground pool that was installed by a local company last spring. They are selling the property and the new owners want the pool gone. Pool is a 21' all resin frame, top of the line model and they paid almost 9k with water delivery. Pool coming with the pump, filter and manual vacuum. Clients are having it taken down, and are giving it to me, if I want It. Obviously have to pay for the installation/water if I choose to take it. I've never had a pool, wife and I have talked about it, but I have no clue what's involved in maintenance or upkeep. Been watching a bunch of YouTube videos and it doesn't seem to bad. Those that have a above ground pool and a manual vac, how long do it take you to clean the pool? Is it worth it to get one of those robot vacuums? My hot tub is simple to maintain, but not sure about a pool...
  14. Crazy it takes this long. My stepdaughter got in a fender bender two weeks ago. Shop said parts won't be in for probably another 4-6 weeks.
  15. My wife doesn't have to convince me. In 2.5yrs, She can retire at 55 with 32yrs of state service. Tennessee bound.
  16. Lol, we're not leaving because of the abortion issues. Just tired of the leftist BS in general this state pushes, not to mention far less taxes.
  17. Just saying it's easy, doesn't make it so. Financial choices, housing, family complicates just hopping in the car a leaving. Let's be realistic....
  18. Glorious state..... Hardly. Leaving is not as simple as you make it out to be. Fortunately, my wife can retire from state job in 2.5 yrs at 55. We will be more than happy to GTFO at that time.
  19. It doesn't fit their narrative.
  20. Up at 1, fire started at 2, miss Piggy (105lb) on at 2:45. Grandnephew highschool graduation party. Injected it yesterday around 3pm with apple juice and apple cider vinegar with some granulated garlic and onion. Cooking at 275° for the first few hrs, or until I get the color I like, then flipping to finish off the cook at 225°. Using chery and hickory. Planning on taking this one to 200° in the shoulders. I'll use the skin as a "bowl" and people can grab the pulled from whatever area of the pig they like. Should be done around noon. Give it a hrs rest before digging in.
  21. I'm not sure that will ever happen again.
