  1. Congrats TF. You definitely had a difficult season. What a way to turn it around.
  2. Tactacam reveal. I've got two of them. No issues at all.
  3. I would never intentionally spine a deer. I don't want that adrenaline flowing for what might be several minutes before I can get to them. Let alone intentionally let a deer suffer for that time. I'd let a big buck walk if I couldn't get a neck or heart/lung shot.
  4. The swamp I hunt has 8' tall Reed grass. The edges are the same scrub in every direction, with no defining trees. I've had troubles in the past finding the spot the deer stood. Especially if they happened to be somewhere in the Reed grass where I can see them. If someone is hunting with me, I won't leave the stand until they get there and direct them to where the deer was standing. I've spent over a hr looking for a deer I seen drop, but once on the ground, it's a PITA.
  5. Congrats to everyone that scored today..... I seen one small doe. Oh well, it's only the first day.
  6. I'm in the thick stuff next to a swamp. Max shot 100 yrds on the fringe, as short as 25 in the thick stuff.
  7. That's what I'm seeing also. But no mention of it starting in 2020 or 2021. Just mentions when public comments end. Makes sense it would be next yr.
  8. Can you provide a link? Not trying to bust your chops, but my local DEC officer said it's for this yr if it passes.
  9. Hard to tell. Coyote, barbed wire fence. Seen a small doe get a nasty gash on her side running from a drive yrs ago. She jumped over a blow down and a branch caught her side.
  10. Was at my local gun shop today, and they were saying that this has passed... Searched but couldn't verify. Has anyone heard anything or confirm??
  11. I was well prepared for what I needed. However, my grandnephew is going to use his dad's rifle for the first time. A friend did his best to restore it after the fire. Kayden is excited, but I don't own a 30-06. It took a few phone calls, but a good friend had some extra ammo. Hopefully Adam is looking down upon Kayden this Saturday, and he gets to take a nice buck with his dad's rifle.
  12. I wasn't worried at all... Ok maybe a little. Congrats on a great buck.
  13. Couldn't hunt this afternoon do to meeting with a client, but I dropped my nephew off so he could hunt. Got back to the property and parked on the farm lane to wait for Kayden, and this guy walks out and comes within 15yrds of my running truck.
  14. Congrats on the doe and the turkey. And welcome to the circus, lol.
  15. Probably the same thing that took everything else. Coyotes.
  16. That's what the last deer we let lay overnight looked like. I'll never let one lay overnight again. Hopefully we'll never be in that situation again. If so, we'll go back 6-8 hrs later even if that's 2AM.
  17. It sucks the yotes got to him, but I'd rather know he's dead then wondering. I can't let a deer sit overnight in my area either.
  18. Think I've got dust in my eyes.. They give so much, and ask for so little...
  19. Neat critters. First time I've gotten on on the cam. Seen em many times on this property.
  20. FedEx envelope on the porch with my new tag.
