Myrtle beach during spring break and we always go to old forge at least once in the summer.

Think I have about 9” right now. Going out to do the driveway here shortly.

Yea it’s freezing out. Just got back from the gym but when I left at 530 I opened the door and it took my breath away.

That's the end to my season. Didn't see any deer today. Wasn't to bad of a sit this afternoon. Hoping next year I can get back down to PA. Overall great year for me was lucky to harvest 2 bucks in NY. Time to shift to grouse and shed hunting now.

I'm in for my last ait of the year. Bunch of feeding sign out in front about 30yrds.

No deer spotted this morning did find a bear track scouting this morning. Went and checked some fields looking for feeding sign. Found where I'm setting up tonight. Corner of the one field is all tore up. So unless I come across something better I'll be in a tree in that corner

Up getting ready. See how this goes for my last try in pa this year. Have all my extreme cold weather gear ready to go.

I know they can go anywhere they want but ive learned that if they aren't pressured they take the easy path like we would.

Jeep is packed and ready to go. Hoping to be up and out the door by 430 at the latest and in a tree by 6. Never had good luck when it's as cold as they are calling for tomorrow at first light but I'm hoping I can hang tight until 10ish when it starts to warm up. Spot I'll be at in the morning is a little island of oak/hemlock. Trails are down to dirt and we found 20 beds in it the last weekend of gun. One side has a nasty swamp with only a few trails coming in from that way but goes from the north side all the way to the southern point of little Island. Along the east side a beaver has it damned off and deer can't cross because it's straight up a back with a wall of briers. Where that damn is it has the water chest deep for about 100yrds which leads to a steep bank with only a 20yrd wide gap to get onto the island. The food plots are about 500yrds away across the road so I'm hoping they come in from a night of eating with the cold weather.

Friend just swung by to let me see his holiday season buck before he dropped it at the taxidermist. Giving me some motivation for tomorrow's PA hunt.

Bows all good to go. Checking over my stand now and will get all my cold weather gear ready. Supposed to be 13 in the morning so hoping the pines on the edge of the swamp will hold some deer. If it doesn't work out in the morning I'll be sitting over a food plot on a separate piece of stateland. I won't be climbing to high 8-10' at most. There's a bunch of pine trees so I don't need to climb high to be hidden.

Looks like I'll be able to make it to PA Saturday so after I wake up today I'm getting my gear set and shooting my bow a couple times. I'll also shoot it friday just to make sure nothings changed. Then I'll be on the road first thing Saturday morning and in a tree by 530 since I'm hoping to beat everything back to the swamp before they bed. Hoping for a late season buck.

This is your second time? When was the first if you don't mind me asking. I was told you can test positive for upto 6months after getting it. I'm at work I'll ask one of the nurses to verify.

Wouldn't suprise me he dropped a bunch of weight. Like others I've heard that 20-30% weight loss. Latest I killed one was around December 1st and he was by far the skinnier of all my bigger bucks I've taken.

I use my wife's kitchen aide to but if it's to much meat it gets to warm and have to shut it down. I really need to get a medium size grinder before I kill my wife's kitchen aide

I'm trying to get healthier and lose some weight. I ready started going back to the gym and using my bike at home. My weakness is a sweet tooth and my energy drinks since I don't like coffee. Does anyone have any alternatives for a sweet tooth? I eat plenty of fruit,peanut butter,trailmix,ect. I've also looked into getting protein powder and making smoothies but I don't know what I'm looking at when it comes to that stuff. I know it'll get better the more I eat healthy just looking for other ideas.

Close. I shot my opening day buck at the old legal time. When I first spotted him the time difference would of allowed me to shoot him if I had the chance.

To early to tell but I just set one camera to hang all winter to see what bucks are still around and I have 1 more I would like to hang for the same reason. Biggest purchase for next year will be a couple cell cameras. Otherwise it'll be scouting new spots and shed hunting like normal.

Looking like Saturday will be my last hunt for the year in PA. As long as everything goes right I'm hoping to spend all next Saturday on stand hoping for a late season buck. Saw a couple decent bucks the last day of rifle so I'm hoping they are still around. Never got around to putting a camera up down there so not sure what's still running around. Morning sit will be on one piece on a travel route to bedding the night sit will be over a food plot where a friend shot at a buck last day of rifle. Then I'll be switching to grouse hunting/shed hunting.
