i know i see downstate guys posting dinners on here at 9 pm. Hell im already in bed to get up at 4 and at office by 5:15. Cracks me up when other people say they want to have a meeting and say "lets have a meeting first thing in the morning at 10" - thats lunchtime!

Whew. Just want to be out of that prize pool. Cause let's face it even if Paula brings her roommate my odds are better at the buffet. But they all look like hornady!

270, 303british, 30/30, 3006. I'm guessing I got them allllll wrong. Plus I don't want to be the third wheel with those two.

Actually I've heard they are kinda gamey. But I would eat em.

Yeah that is a loss, Cinderella's was my fav in the beach. Had a diverse menu. The spaghetti house has also changed hands after so many years and will reopen with new owner.

we are just gonna have dinner out on the 15th actually - friday night. Probably canal view on the lake - although the view right now sends shivers down the spine as its a big iceberg.

Warning it is one week from valentines day ! I am guessing at least 40% of you will be shocked , but start planning or making dinner reservations etc. It will make your turkey and fishing season easier later! here is a gift suggestion to help out lol Your welcome!

Who's Ready for the 2019 Turkey Season!?
Robhuntandfish replied to CrossOvertheRiverOutdoors's topic in Turkey Hunting
i always like to go there opening day and see the empty 12 g shells from previous years laying there. I would pick them up but its cool to see them there. Every year they roost about 100 yards away. But last season just couldnt get them to come in. Thinking they were yote shy as i called in a couple of those.- 29 replies

Who's Ready for the 2019 Turkey Season!?
Robhuntandfish replied to CrossOvertheRiverOutdoors's topic in Turkey Hunting
too far away yet to be ready for yet - 3 months . I dont really do any prep for it since i mostly hunt the same spots etc. And i am always torn during season to be on the lake for walleyes as well. BUT i am def looking forward to it!!!!! I didnt bag a bird last year and had a tough season calling them in. So need to get one or two this year. Will get excited when it gets close. I do have May 1st off just for turks and the first weekend in May will be all about turkey hunting as usually the lake is tore up with boats and the weather tends to suck. But i also have taken 6 days off in May to split between turks and walleyes. I had bagged a turkey in the same spot for three years running - this last year just couldnt seal the deal. The week before i will take a walk and setup my spots for the season though.- 29 replies

in every zone up in maine there is no 100% filled tag rate. Thinking its not quite as easy as that most of the time. No different than going to the deer stand on opening day and seeing a big buck - it can happen like that but usually doesnt. Plus if you get a tag in a great zone can look for a big bull to have more of a challenge.
-
Did the napkins have phone numbers on them or was it for cleanup on aisle 5 ?
-
since there is a two guys on a permit was seriously considering taking the bow then having my buddy tote the gun. Yeah i can be a mess with a close whitetail doe, Cant imagine a big moose at bow range - glad its a big target!
-
they draw in June but havent set the date yet. They draw quite a crowd there too. Download the moose PDF on the maine Encon website - that had a lot of good info. and good luck!
-
i sure wanted to lean with the bow too, cause that would be epic! but would kick myself 6 ways from sunday if i didnt get one cause it was out of range and it is very brushy up there i am told and it takes so long to get a permit i got one chance in my lifetime. . But moose with a bow would be amazing!

i heard about this on the radio this morn - creeeepy lol. Some marketing dude just got fired
-
do you remember which zone it was? thats awesome. I know i would cave on the first legal bull i see. lol
-
beautiful! We'd make good pitch partners! I know your holding that Ace!
-
oh and the tag itself i believe is $450 and also have to do a non resident license which i think is $150 or so. Can put up to two other on the permit as well. They have to be with you but can also shoot. Me and a buddy were gonna split the tag fee if we get one. I would also prob get a bear tag just in case to go with it.

i think one draw is like $10. But i usually do the lot of 10 for $55. I also have 13 bonus points built up from past years. But there are people that never get drawn and some get it on the first try, never know. There are a lot of applicants for 2,000 permits. I used to also do NH but the moose population hasnt been doing that well there so stopped applying. I also do the elk draw in Penn but hoping for that maine one. If you apply look over the success rates to pick the units you want to hunt. The northern end is def the best.

wait...... the library has adult films...... WTH kinda library you go to? lol Guessing the library card is a visa!
-
Thanks and definitely would love to share the adventure. Our biggest worry would be not busting out laughing Everytime I try to do a moose call.
-
Jack, nine, eight suited,. a king, a ten and a 7 in off suits...... What's your bid? With a partner.
-
Got one but it's full of venison and walleyes. Will have to get another. Worth it! Couldn't imagine coming home with hundreds of pounds of moose meat. The would be incredible. Moose steaks, moose burgers, moose gumbo, moose knuckle......all the good stuff! It would certainly be my dream trip. Wouldn't get a guide would want to do it ourselves. My buddy would also be on the permit and we would do some scouting in the summer up there for sure. Hopefully this is the year. I try to pick the best zones to apply for but a couple are sketchy. But most are 75percent tag fill areas. Also put in for a cow tag this year to up my odds.
