Depending on what week you go Sylvan Beach has "jeeps at the beach" and canalfest in Aug usually. Canalfest usually has fireworks as well. Just check Sylvan Beach events website. Every Tues is bike night, Thurs is classic car night etc.

Sylvan Beach amusement park is a nostalgic old place and cool for younger ones esp. Got to go to "the wild" in chittenango. A real nice zoo, has all the big cats. Depending on where your staying it's only 15 min away if that. Bass fishing in August is pretty good. Walleye fishing is tough for me that time of year for sure. And if out fishing watch the wind. Lake runs east/west and can get rough in a hurry.

While your in Indian lake go to Marty's chili nights in town. Doesn't look the best form the outside but when u go in you will laugh cause it looks like a little cantina. They have good Mexican food and 100 tequilas. Sucks that the grocery store in town closed so bring what u need with you cause otherwise it's only gas stations for a few miles. First time I went to Indian lake a 4 and a 6 point were fighting on the sidewalk. Lol. I hunted there a few times but didn't see much. Even tried bear hunting. I used to have a camp on big Brook Rd. If you follow that to the end it comes out to kings flow and chimney MTN. A beautiful spot if you get the time. Good luck and have fun.

Probably long ago you never would have thought this would be the outcome from what occurred. Always seems there is a plan for everything. Now here you are maybe making other people's lives better with your input.

Wed a couple fisherman had to be rescued off Oneida Lake. One guy went out and then his 4 wheeler wouldn't start. It was a whiteout on the lake that day with 25-35 mph winds and a -25 to -35 wind chill. Guess he stayed in an ice tent and he ended up with some frostbite. Seems crazy,y to be out in that kinda weather for that. Lake is littered with guys fishing today but I can see that. Wed and Thurs seemed like a death wish to be out there. Hell the legion has the best fish fry around tonite for 10 bucks.

a dude can be ready to go to the moon in 6 minutes, and 5 of it is making sure the dog is set. Takes the GF 45 minutes to be ready to go to the store. lol

ive gotten so i rarely grill venison anymore. I do like the charred outdoor grilling flavors but have gotten so id rather pan fry the steaks in butter and seasoning, it just stays juicier.

Great story! Thoroughly enjoyed that. Reminds me of a little stream of a main stream in the lower tug hill area. A beaver pond was formed and in there grew some beautiful brookies. And it was only 75 yards for the road but so thick no one knew it was there. And I took some very nice 10-13 inch Brook trout there every year for about 4 years. Then the beaver dam was destroyed because it backed up water to the road. Never was the same again. But I enjoyed it and took a buddy or two there several times. And my Dad actually lead me to it even though he passed. We used to stop at this little stream and by the road catch a brookies or two on occasion. I stopped back there for old times sake and found the beaver dam. Again great story. Thanks for sharing.

Pitch was always the game around here. I majored in it in college. Me and my roommate got a challenge from two girls in the dorm that thought they could play. The bet was if we lost we took them out to dinner, and if we won they had to clean our bathroom. Our bathroom smelled a lot better the next day. Lol

There is at least a couple of trees. Prob not enough for any hunting though.

They just look at it as they have guns, let's get rid of guns . They see and have no need for them at all. They don't care about 2a. They just dont want to hear about shootings every night and school shootings. And they think this will lessen the problem. They don't seek out or care to hear reasons from the other side. People read and search out what justifies their own feelings. And another gun law....in their opinion.....doesn't hurt me any, I'm all for it.

This is for sure the way it should be. But does any politician follow the oath they swear or represent all people? This just isn't today's reality it seems and I bet you would agree that that ship has sadly long ago sailed. And he may not be doing his "job" but apparently the people that hire him every four years are satisfied. He must be doing what the majority of people want.
