    Mine always liked the federal vital shock 275 grain. Tried them cause I couldn't find the Remington's and they shot even better groups.

    It's a much tougher draw getting an additional antlerless tag than deer season too.

    She was heartbroken to hear I was washing and putting away all my hunting gear today....sure. Shes a good sport about it but always a running joke that GF season ends Oct 1.

    Dunno about your SOMU (significant other management unit) but GF season starts the first Friday directly after the official close of the muzzleloader season here. Lol. Or at least i was told. Runs until May 1 with the rut usually reaching peak around Feb 14th. Just a reminder - hope it's a good season. I plan on starting the season opener at a local restaurant of the GFs choice.

    Me and hunting buddy Corey were out this morn, sat then did a push but nothing. Saw the Fisher again today this time he was at 10 yards but gone before I could snap a pic. Pretty neat. This was it for me, deer season is over. A very good one for sure. Freezer is full and have to pick one up at processor this week and a mount for the wall in the spring. Next weekend am gonna do a grid search in the area where I shot the buck that shed its horns they have got to be close. Good luck to everyone still at it.

    Didn't see any deer but did see a huge Fisher tonite at 40 yards. That was cool. Last hunt of the season tomorrow morn.

    Bout the same here. Two shots on the property line. Took a walk to see if someone on lease but never saw anyone. Neighbors are hunting on both sides. Hard to tell where a one lone shot is exactly. But def muzzleloader and then a follow shot 10 min later. One neighbor hunts his back yard in a tower on the property line. Think it was him. Maybe go back out this pm. Not sure. Not as motivated but will miss it by next weekend.

    well i shot all three of my deer this year from the same stand on property i have permission to hunt for bow seasons and late season. The family that owns it didnt get a deer so I think 3 is time to stop. lol Although i saw a monster big buck there on Wed and would really like to hunt it again. lol and wind is right on sat .......no no dont do it Rob! On the lease we never take enough to worry about it, we have yet to take more than two in a season. In 5 years i have taken 5 deer there (none so far this season) my buddy has taken 2 and i lost one to coyotes last season. I really think it depends on the location, population , land type etc. For instance 7F where my lease is they cant give away enough doe permits but can tell you we have like 5 resident does on 120 acres and usually a couple of bucks and thats it. Once it gets close to rut a lot of bucks passing thru. But in other spots of the WMU they have a ton more deer and not that far away. We dont have much for food but a lot of cover. And once late season is here there is nothing for them to eat we hardly see a track.

    Cool . Been hearing lots of good things about them. I ordered basic steaks, roasts and grind. Gonna mix my own burger, but I did order 4 lbs of hotdogs to try. Ed seemed like a great guy.
