    Moon might play some part but rut is always gonna be about the same time of year regardless. Weather over moon every time. Pick the right stand for the right wind and hunt the weather fronts esp. But during the chasing time hunt as much as possible no matter the moon. Yeah the moon is romantic but a guy is gonna try to score whenever she is ready! Lol.

    Like looking for a needle in a stack of needles. No luck finding those sheds from muzzy buck. Should've took 20 g could've had a rabbit. Maybe tomorrow. Walked rows of corn and can see a long ways down them but no sheds. And more snow there than I thought would be. Would've been nice to find them they have to be close.

    Sounds like a great menu. I'm a big fan of stuffed cherry peppers. And actually in a little way am disappointed this year , my mom always still hosts Christmas dinner and she is making ham and scalloped potatoes which is great but it was always lasagna and I was looking forward to that. Lol Have a great Christmas bionic and a great start to a new tradition. Our meal is the mentioned ham and scalloped potatoes, cranberry pretzel salad, vegetables, dill dip and rye bread, and for desert always Oreo cookie cake.

    Just put in marinade two roasts for corned venison.,....will go in smoker in a few days. Also mixed up meat for snack sticks to make today.

    I make a cranberry sauce, pan drippings or a little beef stock, red wine esp a port, canned whole cranberry sauce, butter, cook it down til it thickens a bit. Don't have exact amounts cause I 90 percent eyeball cooking without a recipe. Except for baking. I also like an apple butter for venison too. Am making that for new years.

    jack it up , pull on wheel and check for any play. Vehicle in neutral (make sure its chocked) and turn wheel and listen for grinding.
