good luck as your headed out today. Really looking forward to hearing some bear hunting stories! And a pic of your trophy with the traditional!

I have found one shed ever. I dont actively look just for them but will look a bit while turkey hunting or trout fishing. Found an 8 point deadhead pretty close to the road 2 years ago on a blood trail for a doe I shot. Would love to teach my dog to look for them but where i hunt mostly its so thick and swampy in the spring its just a mess. water up to your knees is some spots. Would rather be fishing.

nice morn to be out! wish i had it off - saw three toms in field just now. And weekend looks like rain.... Good luck today TF . If we see pics of your cousin fast asleep too we are gonna question your guiding skills. lol

Gonna start out Sat morn in a planted field in my best spot. Then if no luck gonna switch fields to across the road and they are growing so fast. But that was a big tom out there last time , would love to get a shot at him.

A couple of the fields I hunt last weekend the grass/greenery was getting pretty high. About up to knees. By Sat I am guessing it is gonna be a lot higher and it was thick. Had a Tom in one of the fields bust me and wanted to hunt that same field for him. This spot i really only have the fields to hunt so the woods isn't an option. My question is will they avoid these fields some if the grass gets too high? Is it any deterrent for them? Will it keep them from struttin around those fields? I know it will be tougher for them to see decoys but that might also be an advantage too. What say you turkeys?

i might have seen these same two guys! lol A couple of years ago i was out fishing Lelands pond and heard a horn blaring. I look to the road and there is a car stopped and a naked dude diving into the bushes. The car left and another one came along and two naked dudes run across the road in front of it and one of them had an antler hat on. I was on my way in but stayed out on the water til they left. So i rowed my way in and just as I get to the shore a trooper pulls in.... "oh god I hope he doesnt think it was me! Lol" so he comes over and rolls the window down. I ask him.... "looking for two naked idiots?" He laughs and says ... "yeah , im guessing you saw them.... and i bet they were dudes....its always dudes...." lol So i told him the description of the car etc. -
got this pic a couple of years ago of triplets in later summer

ok the bachelor party is already being planned. We are all gonna dress in pink bunny suits and invite Mila Kunis as the stripper dressed as a squatch. Then there will be "roast" turkey feathers for each member to speak and the topics are all the above. But we will have plenty of PBR on tap for you. lol But even though it is Natalie, my truck will be outside and full of gas in case you change your mind (come to your senses) on marriage, and decide to live in sin with Mila. (she also has a lifetime supply of bourbon!)

One of these is not like the other........lol

some of the hunt apps also help. Like huntstand etc. can put markers up for where your cams are

Hunting from stands or from the ground? Cause as someone said here on this forum about JMP 209, " killing a bear with a traditional bow from the ground gives you a lifetime man card" (something like that anyway)
-
thats awesome! best of luck - have tried a few times for NY bear and no luck. Sounds like a great trip! cant wait for the updates. Are you using the traditional bow or gonna take one out with an Atlas stone or just wrastle one down? lol

last time I hunted the Dacks for deer, we would head out to hunt every morn and there were deer all around our camp eating the grass etc and then saw one deer the whole trip while in the woods. Had a good time but its hard to decide to go hunting somewhere that there are less deer. I have done a few combo trips up north with fishing and hunting and usually end up fishing most of the day and just hunt the mornings, then fish til dark. That way none of us were out in the big woods at dark and have to get back in. Plus the fishing was always better. A definite accomplishment if you can get it done though.

its the one with all the monster buck pics on it!..........

it was killing me this morning not to be out. Seemed like the perfect morn for it. Was headed to work at 5 am and sure wanted to be setting behind some decoys in a greenfield with the sun coming up.

Wow what a great day right there! No kidding ...mid may for steelies is so late. But same on lake with walleyes, they are just finishing spawn out. Sure is a late start this year.

Weve all had it..... "chuck" roast, ground 'chuck" ...... -
have it shipped to Cabelas in PA and then sneak it across the border! lol. Running toy guns! South of here, in the united states, you can probably buy them at Walmart.
