those looked great for sure. Am thinking of doing Fish Tacos this weekend. Not putting any lettuce on them but will make Pico for it.

After deer season would think there are a lot of farms etc that would let you coyote hunt that would be much better as well. The moose plains is some rugged country and esp wouldn't want to be out too far into the night. Was trout fishing there years ago on Sumner creek. Caught some brookies and was working my way down the creek with my nephew. We saw two guys on the bridge and they stayed there the whole time. We came back to the bridge and one guy said "never saw it did you….." and laughed. He said there was a bear just ahead of us on the stream and we would move up a hole and he would move up a hole. He said we were within 40yards of it. Lol never saw it. I did see tracks but glad I didn't see a bear hungry for trout.

Yup. Used to use it for trout fishing too. Until you jab your self with it half a.dozwn times then it ends up in the woods. Lol.

Got these drifting with a worm harness. They are still hanging toward the creek mouths from spawning cause it was such a late year. Got these in 24-28 feet of water off the mouth of the canal. Water is still real cold. Could barely tell when they bit , the line just got heavy. Saw some guys out there fishing jigs or sonars and didn't see them get anything.

Beer and an omelette after fishing. Also a little sample of walleye. Cheeks! When I used to catch and fish a lot more I would keep putting them away til I had a good size container frozen. They are like a scallop. Would sauté them in butter, garlic and pepper and put over angel hair for a seafood pasta. Excellent.

Good day on Oneida. Caught 9 walleyes culled to the 3 best. Biggest was 20 ". Filleted and frozen! Made the right call today to fish instead of chase turkeys.

Happy birthday!

So fishing then! I couldn't do it. Could never go to Alaska without dropping a line. If I was on one of those cruises I'd be on the back deck trolling the whole time.

Sonny gray looks like Mike Mussina today.

Can't really hold it against them that this is the way they hunt. It's what they know and grew up with. It's their culture. They didn't grow up in Alabama sitting in a treestand. Lol. Plus it's not like England has roving farms filled with whitetails. They do what they know. Doesn't make them bad or snobby. It's tradition and culture.

Been a lazy dog day here, on a rainy day. Saw an advertisement for a new TV series called "Yellowstone" with Kevin Costner. Surprised he is doing a tv series but might have to check it out.

Bupkiss! Got an hour and half in before the rain. Not a roost gobble, shock gobble or even a far off gobble. Went to my best roost spot and nothing two morns in a row. Generally nevr go more than one morn all season without gobbles there before i can even get set up. Wondering if someone else wasnt into them. They do roost just across the property line. If rain isnt too bad tomorrow will be out across the road in different field. But not a thing this morn. Good luck to anyone out

gotta go with River Roost - Turkeyfeathers!

got feeling tomorrow morn before the rain is the day! Looks like i can get in an hour or two before it pours. Gonna make it count!

i have fished the moose river plains a few times but its been a few years. Dont recall much of a large yote population up there but am sure is some. I do remember a lot of it was VERY brushy and thick though. Caught some nice brookies up there. And there are a few bears as well.

Hunting blind
Robhuntandfish replied to Bowshotmuzzleloader's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
i say leave the "seat" in it. And it can be the spot for those mornings when your just not sure you shouldve eaten those tacos the night before but yet still want to hunt.. -
Hard to say . Seems like a lot of people have posted on here that their birds came in without a gobble. Same thing last weekend for me (busted me), but I have a tough time sitting for more than 2 hours for turkey - lol Deer on the other hand .... can usually go 3 hours plus

might have got quiet cause he was on his way. - Been there as well. Maybe he will get all worked up chasing you around and come in running !

you have to wonder what person/people decide that the last thing they do every night and the first thing they do in the morning is to rush to a NY hunters site to write in chinese...... Must be Mom is up early doing laundry in the basement and wakes them up or something......Maybe in the evening they get upset when they run out of hot pockets and mtn dew playing video games and need to take it out on someone. Cause really if they are in these colleges as listed would think maybe some studying would be a good idea. Or at least go out to try to make some friends.....lol
