  1. Thanks. Cobbles. I didn't put them in though was here when I bought place.
  2. Walleye is just like perch. I usually fish for both as some of the perch are almost as big as the walleyes. Never really catch any monster eyes out of oneida it seems . Used to get some huge ones in the st Lawrence.
  3. I usually drift fish. Sometimes if not enough wind will slow troll with trolling motor.
  4. I use mostly worm harness with spinner and if real light wind I will use a floating jigheads with a worm. I know a guy that fishes the canal system with a fly rod for northerns. Seen him out near Rome and have talked to him a couple of times. He uses large streamers and def a lot of casting. For northerns I use large spinners and stick baits . The two biggest northerns I've even gotten were on a jr thunderstick. 40 and 43". But have caught big ones on 5 inch bombers, large spinners and even got a 39.5 " in the canal on a big buzz bait once.
  5. Yup the big walleye trail tourney is the 20th. Local tournament on opening weekend. I usually don't fish them as a lot of times th weather blows the lake out. But I have every Monday off in may to make long weekends for fishing and turkey hunting. Can't wait.
  6. The fever only got worse. Got the boat home from storage. I missed it.....
  7. Walleye is the first Sat in may. I am fishing a lake in the dacks on the opener for northerns . Hoping the ice is off it by then.. but if oneida opens up want to get boat out and running and maybe work on some perch
  8. Awesome. Would need an icebreaker here. East side of Oneida totally iced in for miles. Good luck.bundle up.
  9. I tuned up the GF daughters bow last weekend cause she wants to get out and shoot. She uses the Trufire youth release and it seems to work out . Awesome to get her into the sport. There are more and more gals into the shooting and hunting sports. A guy at work does a youth league rifle class every week and he loves it. There is a gal there that they think is gonna be a professional. She already has a sponsor.
  10. This morning was up at 5:30 had breakfast and realized I have spring fever bad. It's 20 degrees out, boat is still in storage, lake is covered in ice but I am damn ready! One pile of tackle and poles for drift fishing for walleyes and perch on Oneida, one pile for a northern pike Adirondack day trip, and my Turkey stuff ....ready for action.
  11. In this area my company is the only one that takes electronics for recycling anymore. They will take anything but if ypur in Buffalo that isn't gonna help. We run the Madison county recycling center. I would call the local recycling place and they would probably know.
  12. Was out digging up some stumps and GF shows up with pulled pork, slaw and Hawaiian rolls for sandwiches and some pasta salad. Good GF!
  13. Gotcha. Yeah I admittedly don't know anything about it other than they took my deers head. Lol. A lot of people were worried about it when it happened. I remember them shooting over 200 deer in the area too I believe. Glad there wasn't any other issues since.
  14. Pickled egg off! I made some a couple weeks ago and so did a buddy. His are prettier in the jar but my mustard ones taste better!
  15. Every weekend I have a real good breakfast. It's my thing.
  16. They look better this morning than I would have expected.
  17. http://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/central-ny/news/2018/04/07/gun-store-owner-potentially-saves-many-lives- This guy made the right call for sure. The guy he turned in had some bad intentions for sure. Was awesome how they did it. He went to Mexico on spring break from Syr university and they revoked his student visa while he was gone. Got caught at the border and deported. But this gun shop owner was on the ball and things worked out like they should have with these issues . Authorities didn't drop the ball here. Kudos to them all.
  18. Cheese and spinach omelette, venison maple sausage
  19. See my post above. 7 deer confirmed 5 at a farm and 2 wild in Verona. Then they tested 7300 deer in the area with no further positive tests. That was a few years ago but it did happen. They took all the deer heads in the county for testing.
  20. I remember people were pissed when they took the deer heads in a bag. Told us not to eat the meat until testing notification came back. And if you wanted head back for mounting they would send it to you or to taxidermist. They sawed the horns off my 3 pointer. It was a pita. Had to load deer and go there and wait in line. And show them on map where you got it. I was there on the second day of the gun opener so it took a while.
  21. http://www.syracuse.com/outdoors/index.ssf/2014/11/dec_amends_states_chronic_wasting_disease_regulations_following_discovery_of_it.html I remember we used to have to take our deer to a collection site for a few years in oneida and madison county cause of some local positive tests in the Verona area - after several years of this they discontinued it because of no positive tests for wild deer taken by hunters.
  22. Couldn't agree more. The liberty question of does this law make you more or less free, doesn't stand up. Don't like to see more legislation in most all cases. But if that were the case then why wouldn't it just go right to all implements. Def on the fence with that one. But I truly am not on the fence for expanding the use of them for those that cannot draw a bow.
  23. Cant wait to see your painting skills at work on the platform! Hoping for camo in custom dragonfly pattern!
