Having our family easter dinner today so made deviled eggs to start. Added in some garlic parmesan wing sauce and bacon bits. Something new.

I hope not yet. Only because we have so few in this area. We just barely got a bear season at all back last year in Madison county. Would love to see more of them. Don't think NY will see one anytime soon if PA and NJ don't have one yet. Plus like you said NY isn't gonna be quick to expand any hunting .

So opening day is also Easter this year. Anyone going out despite it being the holiday? I will be out for sure for at least one cast. Tradition.

i plan to be there before light for sure , setup on the field edge. I have a spot that i have killed several birds from and its about 90 yards from the roost area. My issue is that they tend to follow the hens onto another property as the roost is right on the line. I have to draw them my way when they fly down. But I already took the day off and cant wait to be out there.

There was the tractor glowing in the sunshine. They boarded the tractor and pondered where to go....the answer was evident. They headed to G man's lair , the "G spot". He must know where to find a big cake as he always passes on the small ones......

"old age and treachery always overcome youth and skill" got a hunting buddy that is 70. Sends me pics of his deer every year and tells me he doesnt know if he can keep dragging them out. Always tell him i will be glad to come help even though I am 2 hours away. But he is stubborn and brings them out. I would be too i am sure. But being stubborn still gets him out there. His deer from last year!

yup got one of those too lol - my first deer rifle was a winchester model 94 30/30. First year they came out with the angle eject. It will and has killed some deer.

that gets the blood pumpin and the outdoor spirit moving! Saw 11 turks in a field behind lease land yesterday. 2 big toms. They werent strutting but were looking for food.

i use the free app. Like it for the wind direction cone they give you. My hunting buddy swears by it.

i just bought a Browning BLR 30-06 last year - love it. Like having a magazine for a lever instead of tube feed.

My best fishing buddy broke 8 fishing rods one year. We used to fish a lot!!!!! but he leaned over the boat edge and broke one, set 3 down behind the truck and forgot and ran over them, set the hook on a bass in the deep weeds and broke one, broke one just on a hard cast, wasnt paying attention while drifting and got a hit and it went overboard, he had one rod he had for one day - we went to fish the selkirk pier and he casted and the rod snapped at the handle .......He did get a free replacement for that one but a tough year.
