  1. i have a semi auto 12 g from american tactical. Its a cheap semi auto for just around the house and a little target and for when I am the pusher in some real heavy brush for deer. I cant get the scope to stay in place. Its only a 2.5 but would like to mount this on there. Asked a gun shop and they said they couldnt really tap the gun at all. I even tried some locktite and that wouldnt hold it in place - any ideas????
  2. when your sighting in rifles/shotguns do you tend to dial them in 1" high at 100 yards or dead on at 100 or something else? it seems I dial all mine in for the bullseye at 100 and if shooting over that distance adjust high on the shot. now a .22 i dial in at 50. But i see on a lot of ballistics on the ammo packaging where they have the 1" high at 100 , then shot will be 3" low at 200. etc, or even 2.5" high at 100 = 150 at zero and 4" low at 200 etc.... Was just wondering how most people sight in ... I always do the dead bull and figure within 100 yards I am dead on.
  3. i went one year had a good time for sure. We actually got a couple hotel rooms with some friends and went to the show in harrisburg one day and to cabelas in hamburg the next. Def had a good time, there was 7 of us and we sure drank and bought a lot of gear. Thankfully not at the same time
  4. i am in the same camp as you. Not really an AR guy but know that just like fishing lures people always like new shiny stuff - i am guilty. Lol. They are probably fun but not my cup of tea.
  5. Not saying I am crying when I shoot a deer. Saying since I am the one taking its life a minute of respect is deserved. I am one that took its life, made it stop breathing , living . If there is no pause when you kill something and it is done without any emotion then you have become more of a robot and have no emotion left then I probably wouldnt be as interested in hunting. I could and would kill the lamb or cow if I had to and lived on a farm. Its not that I couldnt do it because I would feel bad, its because i dont raise livestock. I would also feel bad if I hit a deer with a car, its human nature. Most of us have that, theres nothing wrong with that its part of being human. Making a bad shot is a different feeling , you dont want the animal to suffer. Doesnt mean you have to be a robot when you kill one. Each person will have their own emotions thats part of their personal experience, what you feel or dont feel has nothing to do with my hunt. If youre a stone cold killer then thats your particular personality. A person who feels an ounce of remorse is also not wrong, its who they are. If you feel emotion after killing a deer its ok. "Its not wasting your emotions on food" - emotions arent wasted or numbered.
  6. Here at work you have to take ladder training before you can use one
  7. i also love stream fishing for brookies - the most beautiful fish for sure. I actually come up for some Northern pike fishing when the ice comes off the lakes, usually it is right before opening Sat in May, the first two weeks of may are always the best.
  8. earned income credit and child tax credits - My GF has some horrible family members - anyway 6 months of the year in jail + yet another kid = $10,000 plus free medical all year, assistance etc. ( worked just enough to say so) Makes her want to scream -
  9. I will be keeping a close eye on this near spring for when the ice goes out fishing! Can't wait
  10. used to be a mainstay in college. Every weekend me and my dorm room mate would buy a case a keystone, a beer ball a 6 pack of Killians and put in $5 each for the Keg. The Killians was to have some good beers on friday night to start the weekend. Then the keg party was either fri or sat night and the case of keystone was for the non keg night. The beer ball was tapped at 11:30 on Sunday for NFL pregame. A couple of times the seal got busted and we had to cut the top off and scoop it out with a ladel. Yeah college. and most every weekend the keg party started in another room and ended up in ours anyway. lol and yes Boobies ! lol always boobies.
  11. im thinking all new members get gauged by the PA chest girth chart and immediately exposed to the bunny suit. If they come back the next day they stay. I believe this is what stopped the onslaught of the Russian Asians. (there..... if the new guy isnt intrigued by all that dunno what else to say! lol)
  12. welcome in. We dont have hogs like in Texas but some good hunting and fishing to be had in NY.
  13. prob because I didnt actually kill the lamb. I dont feel anything when eating venison steak either just at the time of taking its life.
  14. wish i had a radio in the pickup with a plug in for an Ipod or something. Just have Radio and CD player. A lot easier to load up on music you like. There is a lot of new music I like but also like to mix in some older stuff.
  15. youve def been out of the winters for a while - def not the same. I will trade you 40 degrees for 40" of snow! Mid 80's and lawn mowing ....... is not mid 20's and snowblowing! Im getting so i dislike winter more and more every year. Prob because i have to fight it all day at work. Might be different if I was retired too. good for you though
  16. and ive actually caught fish on most of these. Have boxes where it might be 50%. Shiny new lures sucker me in for sure. Not as bad as i used to be as I fish less now these days.
  17. Glad I am not the only one that likes Dwight! https://www.google.com/search?q=dwight+yoakam&oq=dwight+yo&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0j5j0.4936j0j7&client=ms-android-verizon&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#mie=e,,dwight yoakam a thousand miles from nowhere,H4sIAAAAAAAAAONgFuLUz9U3MDQrLohX4tFP1zcsNM0yK0w2rtIS9C0tzkx2LCrJLC4JyQ_Oz0sHACMxB80uAAAA
  18. People that dont need directions "that the windshield is one of the most important parts of the car to clear the snow off from"......lol. Think that qualifies.
  19. I think that common sense is just gone. You always know when talking with someone almost right away these days if they have it or not. There is a lot of smart people around but so many without much common sense as well.
  20. Now you had me looking. 2 in the top water box. The green one has caught so many smallies the tail feathers are gone.
  21. And that's the group we need to thin out. That gene pool is too deep already. Take the labels off, those people need to go. Lol
  22. One of my underage buddies bought a keg. We tapped it and there was something wrong with it, no carbonation. So he took it back. The guy questions him saying he didn't think there was anything wrong with it and that he wasn't even sure he was of age. My buddy got all tough and said you sell me a S&$# keg and now ypu question my age what kinda place is this etc..... He ended up getting another keg and a 6 pack of killians longnecks for his trouble. Lol
  23. Yeah they had someone outside with a snow brush actually cleaning off a car and there first tip was to do the windshield. ....... Makes me want to find a spot to jump . Between this kind of stuff and tide pods it makes me fear for the species.
  24. Yup. Used to buy the old mil long necks. A case was an exact $10.05. used to hand that exact amount to the girl I went to school with at the cash register so I didn't get ID 'd.
  25. Am watching the news and they have an in depth story on how to clean snow off your car...... I realize there is a lot of people that just don't do what they should but cmon.....my theory for a few years is to take all the warning labels off everything and let nature sort itself back out again. Lol I think we are getting dumber because we are protecting people without a lick of common sense these days. We need to thin the herd ... Take the warning off ladders not to stand on the paint tray, take the warning off the snow blower not to stick your head in there while it's running.....etc.
