  1. Lol, why not? I want a buck the first minute of opening day lol. Last year, opening day of shotgun season, bucks were chasing does hardcore. Luckily, where I hunt there isn't much land, so if I don't see them by 10-11am I will go still hunting midday and find them.
  2. I'm hoping that at first-light on 11/17 all the bucks go crazy and start running around.
  3. Looks like a cub. I see the head and ear. It's gotta be another bear.
  4. Enlarge pic # 2. It definitely looks like another bear in the bottom right hand corner, where the hip of the main bear is. Am I seeing things? lol
  5. Sow with a cub in 2nd pic? I will go out on a limb and guess the sow weighs 247.8lb.
  6. She how bad she wants it, tell her it will be 20% interest.
  7. Sounds a little fishy, but you never know. I once sold a car to a guy from Tennessee who I thought was a scam artist for months. Finally, I agreed to meet him. I met him at the airport in NY and he paid cash and drove away with the car with his own plates, etc.
  8. Awesome bear, congrats. Is the other guy "that ugly"?lol What about a shoulder mount?
  9. Haha, no way. I use a reputable taxidermist.
  10. Does anybody have land in Suffolk County where I can hunt in January? I would be willing to pay a fee. I am open to hunting with a shotgun or crossbow. I would only be interested if I have a buck tag leftover. I cannot hunt until January 6th at the earliest. Thanks in advance.
  11. Agreed. I'm no expert either, but I think 120's?
  12. That's a cool looking raccoon. I have 1 mounted, but its of the regular grey/black variety.
  13. Dan, We've talked already, but feel free to PM me with any questions. Unfortunately, deer hunting-wise, my father and I have access to small 8 acre piece of property where we can't bring anybody else with us. However, I can give you some detailed info regarding the DEP land we talked about.
  14. Blonde raccoon? never heard of that....sounds cool, I will look it up. I always wanted a black coyote and a blonde colored black bear also.
  15. There are tons of black squirrels in Westchester County. I would love to see one when I hunt in Putnam County. Would make a cool mount to go next to my first ever grey squirrel that I have mounted.
  16. Sounds like he put the salt lick out in hopes the deer stay on his property where you can shoot them.

Global warming has nothing to do with people releasing pets.
  18. When I was in PA hunting food plots, the other guys who were in tree stands would do a coyote howl/bark. The deer would scatter, then they would get down and out. The deer always came back the next night anyway. If you have coyotes in your area, this could work.
  19. too bad you werent in that other stand!
  20. $80 sounds fair. It's $90 in Westchester (Amato's, by Bob's Bait & Tackle in Katonah).
  21. Some guys love apples. They like to bring 20 apples each day to eat while hunting. Problem is that they always wear the pants with the holes in the pockets. So the 20 apples fall out of their pocket each day.
  22. I know its different for the guys who hunt on or near farmlands, but if baiting were allowed here in NY, hunting in Putnam County would be extremely easy in the beginning. There are barely any food sources in my area. If I setup a feeder with corn, I would have all the deer in the area coming to my feeder. I know somebody who used to bait with a feeder and he would have 1,000+ pics per day on his trail camera and that is not a typo. Then on opening morning of archery every year, he and his friends would each get a nice buck before noon.
