  1. We have two of them. One in the kitchen and the other in my daughter's room. Wife loves for dictating her grocery shopping list. We have a couple of smart plugs hooked up to it for lighting. We have a Sirius-XM so it is nice to tell it to play anything on that without having to push a button. It also works with Pandora music. Daughter likes to have it play meditation music to help her fall to sleep at night. And of course asking goofy questions to see how it will answer is fun.
  2. Looks like you are in Burlington. Did you hit up American Flatbread/Zero Gravity? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  3. Dangerously drinkable at 8.2%. Also some interesting artwork that is different on each can. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  4. We don't get it here in Albany but I'm in Buffalo frequently and always bring some home with me. If I am staying downtown I like going to the brewpub as well.
  5. Wife's birthday was a couple weeks ago. Mine a few days ago. We tend to not make a big deal for Valentine's day since they are so close. I got her and my daughter each a box of chocolate covered strawberries and we will go out to dinner Saturday.
  6. Didn't take pics but we had green chicken chili made in the instapot.Second time making it. Delicious. (the green chickens were hard to find though....lol)
  7. For a lot of people, the suggestion of snow is an excuse to leave work early. Today however, with the worst of it falling late afternoon I was happy to get my daughter early and get home to avoid most of the idiots. Hoosick Street is a killer with the hill and all the stop lights.
  8. I work downtown also. Daughter had early dismissal which gave me excuse to leave early. Wife came home around 3:30. Roads are snow packed but not bad if you take it easy. It's the idiots in a hurry you have to look out for
  9. Here in Albany we have 4 or 5 inches of snow just turned to sleet. Supposed to have a good period of sleet and maybe freezing rain then another couple inches of snow. My idiot neighbors are out there snowblowing. Sleet and freezing rain is much easier to clear when it is on top of the snow. Anticipating the school delay tomorrow.....
  10. Thanks all for the birthday wishes! Not going out tonight as my daughter has dance classes on Monday night. Saturday we cooked up some nice big ribeyes for dinner washed down with a few Big Ditch Hayburners I brought back from Buffalo. Yesterday morning went out to breakfast at the Colonie Diner with my parents. Along with my wife and daughter waiting on me all weekend, it was a good weekend.
  11. What TCIII said. I have had a Surface Pro for work for about 6 months now. Can use as a laptop or a tablet. Love it.
  12. After snow blowing put on a big pot of chili and whipped up some sausage cheese muffins. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  13. Yup same here in South Colonie. As soon as I got done snowblowing sleet changed back to snow and picked up a couple more inches. Just some flurries now. Town hasn't finished plowing my neighborhood so probably gonna have to do final cleanup tomorrow in the 30 below windchills they are calling for.
  14. Maybe a little more than a foot here. 12 degrees and sleeting. Supposed to change back to snow and get a couple more inches before it ends early afternoon. Gonna go out and get the heavy snow blowing done in a few.
  15. Latest snow map from the Weather Channel. They seem to be trending the snow totals up from yesterday. Our local stations are pretty much staying away from putting expected amounts on a map yet. Too far away. I still call 10" here in Albany.
  16. Weather Channel snow map showing 18-24" here in Albany. I will call 10".
  17. I own a Ruger American in 7-08. When I was looking it was between the Ruger and the Savage Axis. I handled both in the store. I liked the trigger, safety and general feel of the Ruger in my hands better than the Axis so that's what I got. FWIW, the pic below is 3 shot group at 50 yards this past fall checking zero (sorry about the sideways pic). I don't think you can go wrong with either one for an affordable deer killer. I'd get to a store and handle both and then make your decision.
  18. Those are the thumbprints. She did three different preserves this year. Couldn't tell you what the preserves were but they all tasted good.
  19. My wife bakes every weekend from Thanksgiving up to Christmas. Too many different types to name them all. My favorites are the linzer bars and chocolate salted caramel chips. We brought these two platters to my in-laws Christmas Eve.
