    I had the opportunity to talk to a person that use to work for National Geographic shooting footage, some years ago. He told of a 20 minute story where they did a shoot on brown bears up in Alaska. He got caught with a brown bear that was near twice his height having a tree to separate the both. The only thing between him and death was his several thousand dollar camera which he ending up using in defense to give enough time for escape.

    I always try to get a few acres of soft white in the ground. Carbs. are what deer need late firearms and this fills the bill. Makes for some great late season deer hunting. Fill some of those late doe tags. It also set 3 cents in every loaf , of what they call bread nowadays. LOL.

    Rain showers moving through. Air temp. has dropped 10 degrees with wind shift to the northwest. Nine deer in radish at 5;30 this morning. Walked right by a buck.

    Red winter wheat. Planted pretty late for deer forage, but if we get mild weather and good top growth, you can't ask for a better deer magnet.

    Good luck and be safe to OP and all others in the path. Looks like an October rare, very dangerous storm heading for Florida's east coast. Tornado's as well as hurricane force wind and 12"+ rainfall, a threat. Give me an old fashion snow storm any day, thank you.

    Clearly, Mike Pence is the man for president. Instead we have a candidate, that seems to be working for the Clinton election. It's about time the people use their heads, don't let the news media decide the candidate, and lead this country in the direction it should be going.

    First of all, that deer is illegal to even handle, except by PD. or DEC. officials without a tag, assuming it was in NY. state. I would of hoped they called officials upon the find.

    Did the arrow stop and the broadhead burred into the soil deeper? My Steel Force 125's use to pull the insert out of the arrow on ground in pack. I started gluing my own inserts into the arrows. The glue would stick to the steel, but not the carbon. Now having trouble with pre glued vanes coming off 2 year old Carbon Express arrows. Manufactures glue not holding. Quite frustrating taking a shot and seeing vanes flying off.

    I was two steps away from stepping on this guy at 5;30 Saturday morning. Needless to say he saw me first. Time I got the flash light on him, it was all over.

    I still see WW being planted, but late for deer browse. I wanted to get some in but, didn't quite make it. I need to get good root growth, so the creek doesn't wash it away.

    Remember one thing, deer still move, no matter what the weather conditions. Their have been a few times, I made the choice to fire a weapon in the rain. Many more, not to. It depends on the situation and future weather conditions. It can change so quickly around these Great Lakes. Weigh all your options. Then make an educated decision. I figure, the more time I spend a field, the better chance of harvesting a deer.

    I took a scouting trip this morning and got all wet. No sense waiting till the last minute. My neck is stiff; aches and pains up and down my entire back. My legs hurt like hell and my finger is healing nicely. I'm ready for deer season, LOL.

    We're getting ready for snow. We have had snow storms by mid October, past years.

    Can get a real good close look at turkeys two times during the year. One, at a hen with poults by her side. Two, holding a weapon in hand on a newly called in turkey.

    It's nice for those people that don't get a chance to interact with such animals though. I'd like to look at Four Season's whitetails deer, just to see some great work, that's being done.
