  1. Depends on how it's prepared. Fajita? Stew? Roast? Ground and in sauce with pasta? Mixed with pork for sausage? Canned? 3 or 4 sounds about right to me.
  2. It turns out I'm a sucker for a good deal. Pics coming shortly...
  3. I know the company by reputation, but don't know anyone with first hand experience. I may have to head back over and give this a closer look...
  4. Anyone know anything about this rifle? seems hard to find information on the exact model online. I don't really need another gun right now, but.... Saw this one yesterday and might have to jump on it. Saw it in a local store. I asked for a clerk to meet me at the gun counter, but I got tired of waiting around so ended up leaving without getting much information on it. The tag said Legacy Sports International m1500. I believe it had either a 22 or 24 inch barrel. The barrel was a bronze-ish color though, not carbon fiber, and the end was ported. It was in a green digital camo pattern, and had a detachable box mag.
  5. @Nomad that's a handy tool. I was thinking PVC with a rope through it that has a loop at the end. That way you could tighten the loop by pulling the rope.
  6. Sounds like a hell of a deal. If you haven't already looked into it, an LED strip on a motion sensor is a game changer for interior lighting.
  7. My buddy was adamant it was a water moccasin.. saw a few more smaller ones in the same area. After googling it I think it was a northern water snake. Not venomous, but aggressive and will bite people.
  8. Took family out camping over the weekend. Nice little private campground not far from home. They have a stocked, catch and release pond, so i thought it would be fun to take my youngest son fishing for bluegills and sunnies. I was telling one in when a snake jumped out of the water and latched onto the fish! It was probably 24 - 30 inches long and wouldn't let go. I've never seen anything like that before. Needless to say, no more swimming in that pond for us..
  9. Glad you're ok. I never did feel totally comfortable with hang on stands. Thinking about selling the few I have left.
  10. Wishing you Good luck and a Speedy recovery. Take it easy afterward. Walking around in a house or at PT is one thing, walking over uneven ground in the woods is something else.
  11. Love the Brew House. Good food and a great atmosphere! That reminds me, I need to stop down this weekend to get a few growlers filled.
  12. Didn't see anything I need on hunting supplies, but did find a pickleball package, indoor motion lights, outdoor solar motion lights, keypad deadbolts, lanterns for camp...
  13. I bought a bunch of household stuff. Paper products, detergents, dishwasher pods, etc.. also a video door bell and Echo Show 5. I didn't even think about outdoors stuff. Now I'll have to go back and take another look.
  14. Whatever you do, don't kiss the Blarney Stone! Otherwise, have a great time! My family did a tour of Ireland a few years back. Loved every minute of it.
  15. I'm thinking 1.5.. The antlers look deceptively girthy because they're still wrapped in velvet.. between that and the general size and shape of the deer, i'm thinking no way he's a 2.5
  16. With this recent rash of shootings / media attention and the knee jerk lawmakers reacting to it, is anyone else planning on picking up any new guns or components while they still can? I'm going to grab a few lower receivers and a 5.56 / .22LR conversion kit. I'm not sure that these will be easy to come by in the near future so I'm grabbing them while I can for future builds.
  17. Well that's frustrating. Glad you're ok. I was looking at a grill guard when I recently picked up my new to me truck. I was told though that, in the case of an accident, they transfer the energy to the frame. This actually causes more damage than if you take the shot in the grille. Not sure how much truth there is to it, but it seems logical. It was enough to talk me out of it. Something to consider if you're looking at adding one.
  18. Was in OBX last week. Paid roughly 4.29/gal before I left. It was 3.99/gal while I was down there. Came back to 4.69/ gal. Now I'm happy if I can find 4.79/gal. Up .50/gal locally in only a week. I only get about 11 mpg when I tow the camper. If this keeps up, I'll seriously have to think about how far and how frequently I'll be camping this summer.
  19. From what I've seen, stores seem to have more available in the common calibers than they had 6 months ago. I haven't looked for that one specifically, but I've seen more .308, .30-30, .270, etc... Between local shops, online and auctions, you should be able to grab some without too much difficulty. You may pay more for it that you'd like, but you should see some available.
  20. I'm further West as a starting point, in Monroe County. Did the drive last year down to Duck in the OBX. We drove through DC on the way down and took 81 back up through PA. Google maps had the drive at 11 hours and change if I remember right, but with the wife and 2 kids in the car it took nearly 15 hours. More than I care to do again with the family along for the ride. We're headed down in another week or so (10 days, but who's counting?) and this time I booked layovers near Harrisburg PA both ways. That'll break the drive into more manageable chunks.
  21. We're headed down to OBX the last week in April. My buddy and I are taking the kids on an inshore charter. Apparently Cobia should be running by then. Also planning to some surf fishing while there. Can't wait for some warmer weather. It seems like this gray winterish slop is lingering this year..
  22. Thanks Rob. I'm looking at a property near there, but not sure what to expect for hunting. Hunting aside, good looking property that checks a lot of boxes..
