  1. So Westchester is not part of the southern zone ? From the DEC website...."The Holiday Hunt will occur in all Southern Zone counties this year"
  2. I may of missed it, Westchester does not get a holiday season this year? Admittedly I've not paid that much attention. It doesn't effect me up here. I thought that if they did get the special holiday season they would gain 1 day.
  3. Ha. Ha. ha. There is a business opportunity. Personally delivered. Not sure my gf will front me the start-up costs though..lmao
  4. I find it difficult to narrow down my list to one thing. It may be a pair of lightly insulated bibs. Not even sure about the brand. They are stretchy. I will never by another pair of work or hunting pants again that do not stretch. Unbelievable how much more comfortable and freeing they are. Wether kneeling, climbing , or falling. Ha.ha .ha
  5. No holiday season? Seems strange.lol If we are not supposed to hunt on the last day listed on the DECs dates , then I may have hunted a lot of days out of season .;)
  6. They should get the 1st as well though, right?
  7. Most likely. "His" deer probably never saw a beet or turnip in their lives, except maybe if they raided someone's garden. Pretty much all the local woods are brushy thick cover (not like the open hardwoods I've seen a lot of in 8m, for example) we have a few fields that have soybeans or corn ,depending on the year. I'd say 100% of the deer make it to the ag fields at night. For many its a decent walk, 1/2 mile or so, they are happy to munch on his foodplots during the daylight on the way.lol
  8. I wonder what the reasons are? Alternative food sources?
  9. It's funny how deer hit food sources differently depending on the area. A buddies brassica food plot just up the rd has been hit by the deer hard since mid Oct. Back in Oct/ early Nov they were mainly browsing the tops, now they are kicking up roots and eating them.
  10. The closest I've been is the Bronx zoo. Kinda funny..to see animals..
  11. A few hours were all you could take? I don't blame ya.;)
  12. I havn't shot league in years . I have been thinking about it for the last few years. It was fun and I have never shot better than those years that I did. Maybe this will be the year to start again.
  13. I think you were really bored and just wanted to play in the snow.
  14. 30-40 miles north of Pittsburgh, in and around Morraine state park. We have a cabin at the park reserved . We have no idea what the hunting is going to be like, but shall find out.
  15. We are going to Colorado again this year. We are going 1 week later 9/18-26. Hopefully not as warm and no full moon this time. I cannot hardly wait..
  16. Nice! I have a cabin booked for 7 days, starting 10/29 in PA. We will finish up our 2 week trip back in NY. It will be the 1st year we have tried another state for whitetail.
  17. Curious. Why it would matter ? Maybe you have better service for one or the other ? I see this asked alot . I have one of each .lol
  18. Look at you getting all geeky..;) I like it . I learned a new word.
  19. Sweet! And only 4 grand or so when equipped with an automatic rangefinding scope..
  20. Nice! What part of Kansas ? Public land or private. Kansas and Missouri are on my want/to do list of places to hunt.
  21. True, bit if you are comfortable there is often an advantage especially during archery. During bow season I probably spend 90% of my time in a stand. During firearm season I spend maybe 33% of my time in a stand. Depending on the area , it's nice to be quickly mobile, and there is not an to advantage being in the air.
