  1. I i have One, and it is very comfortable. I've logged countless hours napping.. I mean hunting out of one..lol
  2. So true.. I have taken my stand for more than one nice walk before. Never actually putting it in a tree because all the " good spots are taken.. .lol Seems everybody reads the same books I have found that many of the stands rarely get used. . From one of of my favorite bottom spots I can see 3 other stands . I haven't seen a person there in 6 years though. The more difficult the access, the more likely people just set up a stand and never move it..
  3. Nice deer! It always sucks when someone screw with or takes your property.. It seems that most of us hunters are a good people. But of course there is always a loser... if I stole every tree stand I passed empty in the park , I'm not sure if we would have enough room in our 16' trailer to take em home. If the time and date stamps are right they are the reason I hate to come out of the woods...lol.. I love those river bottoms. I have been mulling over the idea of taking a little 4hr drive and hanging a camera or 2 also..
  4. We needed a new one at camp too. .We used a pressure treated frame and set over a new hole . Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  6. Yes, a chimney is still standing from the camp at the bottom of the hill..
  7. You have been missing out.. After some study you will be amazed at the different projects they were involved in.. I know in Letchworth sp the ccc had 3 or 4 camps . They built most if not all the stone walls, walks, picnic areas , and some roads ... Also , often if you come across tracts of plantation pine on public land it has been planted by the ccc.
  8. I think I am too..lol... I was just trying to get a rise out of some.. so we could make it to 1000 and Moogs solution...
  9. Stupid question... how do you aim? Sights, down the arrow, neither? Shows you my knowledge of traditional gear.. Lol Excellent shooting btw.
  10. I'm glad we don't have to read any more responses from the bamby/spike horn shooters against AR.. anymore
  11. Or you can use your smartphone with app..
  12. Not familiar with night caches?
  13. We stumbled on one in Letchworth sp years back... now our family spends a bunch of days looking for them every year .. It is amazing how many are out there.. We even placed a few ourselves that are accessible by boat..
  14. Wierdo...... lol ..just joking.. glad all is well in our little world.
  15. No, I didn't at 1st.. that is a little one for the end of August.
  16. This is what I can more easily identify as a 2.5 year old.
  17. The deer herd would boom, as good as I shoot a traditional bow...lol
  18. Definitely a consideration i expect the timber value to be +- 25% less after being tapped. How many years at $1 tap to recoup that loss? I'm not sure if anyone's done the math. Every year you would get the $ for taps and the trees are still growing and increasing in value..
  19. I've never seen the before it after effects of all the tubing in the woods.. I have hunted a few sugarbushs though.. The deer do not seem to be bothered. I would think if you had a few specific stands and or plots they could easily work around them.. If you walk around a lot in your woods you will not like it though. You will have to constantly duck and dive around the tubing.
  20. Had a hard time choosing between 2 1/2 or 3 1/2..I am thinking 2 1/2 . 70% confident.
  21. This may be true for bass, but why is the limit for musky 40"(depending on where you fish)? I believe it is to keep a greater # if fish capable of growing up to spawn and to allow fish to grow to a length more fun to catch.. Either way not a great anology..Fun though.. I have joked with friends about catching and releasing deer..Maybe a permanent paint marker gun?
  22. I like the fish analogy.. Why do they place minimum size limits on fish..Doesnt seem fair, why can't I keep that 8" bass. I could be just a beginner, poor fisherman,or just want something to eat.. Yeah I am a little bored..lol .... I have been housebound for close to 4 weeks. The more progressive states actually have slot limits..Actualy a better practice fod the fish populations..this allows a healthy spawning population while still allowing a trophy or little fish be kept..
  23. GREAT!! I suck at golf too..ha ha.. I think I will..
  24. Moog, you keep on posting pictures of these bows and talking about them , i am going to have to buy one...looks like a lot of fun! I've occasionally played around with a recurve and could not consistently keep an arrow in a 2 x2(feet not inches..lol) target at 20 yds.. You seem to have it down though.. Makes me want one of my own to practice and eventually hunt with.
  25. I'm in compete disagreement..lol.. I would take AR over OBR all day long... With OBR..I am still going to shoot the 1st 120+ buck I see. where I hunt that is a trophy and 9 out of 10 years it is the only one you will see to shoot that year.. That usually requires a fair amount of time and effort in itself... I would be foolish to not reap the rewards of my efforts and enjoy the kill , for the off chance of seeing something bigger. I love to deer hunt and take 1-3 does a year to fill my meat needs. Besides being a lot of fun. I still for the most part situate myself and put in the effort to target an older buck. I enjoy the challenge and admittedly like horns..If a doe gives me a good shot (in a place i dont mind dragging her out of) during archery she's coming home with me.. Not the end of the world either way.. I can go out of state to get my fix if need be.. just seems like a waste to have all this hunti g land up here and not be able to hunt..
