I have left multiple stands all over public lands from weeks to the entire season. Until this year nobody has ever messed with one...

Yeah , its kind of funny. When I travel downstate , even many miles outside some of the cities ,Rochester,Buffalo or Syracuse, it feels like a rat race... Way too people-ly... Lol

10 hrs is a lot of road time for 2 hrs of work...lol... I live about 15 min south of town

I was in the Burg today also...Sort of playing hooky from work..I always liked the armory there also...

My thought exactly.. I think my average pressure sitting here on the couch isn't even close to what it is sitting in the hospital for like the 2nd time in my adult life.

I did, ( my muzzleloader)and yes I did think about shooting the lock off.. I went walkabout for awhile instead.. That's good news ..papist... I am not a guy that normally goes to the doc for a cut that I could have taped up.. The numbing shots before they stitched hurt worst than stabing myself with a hunting knife.the instant numbness was a little different than what I had experienced in any of my past ,usually self inflicted, wounds..ha.ha

Lol.. I posted it and a pic on "live from the stand" thread..long story short...some $%&& glued my lock on treestand ..in my attempt at freeing it up, I stupidly stabbed myself in the hand..

Sitting on the bed waiting to be stitched up...sounds like all they want to do is stitch cut closed...a little worried that maybe I should get 2nd opinion... Cut down bother me , I could have taped it up myself..numb finger I'm not fond of.... It's my trigger finger too for those left hand shots..

Washed it in the swamp.. Not really. Lol... Should. Be nice and clean. I just finished cleaning and sharpening knife the other day...There is no getting the lock off without cutters. I freed up keys but not before having all the plastic numbers stripped off..Guess it will give me another chance to run into the jerk. If I'm lucky... Good luck with the hunting.. I guess I'm headed to see a doc.. My brief internet self diagnoses say they have to see nerve back together.. Should be a good smooth cut... It was one time I was lucky and hit bone not the middle of my hand or wrist ... I didn't get good penetration..

Now I'm the dumba%% , and really,really mad .. now... Currently sitting down, debating whether to go to ER.. Because if I don't get any feeling back in my finger I'm afraid I cut a nerve...channel locks in my bag but no bandaid, I had to jam a tight jersey glove over it..I won't bleed to death, but I have found deer with less if a blood trail.. You know what really makes me mad?...when I walk back a mile to my tree stand that is locked to a tree with a combo lock...aandd some $%%& glued it shut... Now I'm slightly amused(very slightly), I had high hopes today for this spot..mostly really pissed off... So I happen to have a pair of channel locks in my bag. .... And a knife....

I never use all the tags available on my land and the local farms I hunt, due to lack of deer.. If I could get everybody else in the neiborhood to get on board our herd may recover..instead , every yearling buck and doe they have a tag for is shot.. And the bitching continues...

I am one of those guys that start sweating , just looking at work..lol...and also have a hard time pacing myself. I dress very light for the hike in with all my warm clothes packed on the stand..Pretty common for me to be walking in in my t shirt if it is above freezing out... I put my bottoms on before climbing and the rest in the stand... I also try to have 2 pull ropes.. One for weapon and one for a pack..

I just returned from 14 days of hunting 8m.. 4 of us saw a total of 4 " half rack" bucks. I saw 2 of them and they were not close enough to see if the antler broke off or not. Both of these bucks looked like they would have been typical 2.5 year old 8 points. The other 2 appeared to have broken off real close to the base and had 4 and 3 points left on the remaining sides.. Curious.

Maybe. I guess anything can happen any given day... Up to this year I was using the rage extreme2.3" and like I said even the ones I hit in the shoulder usually blasted through..broadheads were pretty much always junk afterwards..Only 1 deer with the hyp...so far and I bent the blades butwith new blades it is as good as new.. I killed quite a few deer withe grim reaper , I just switched because I figured it was just a matter of time until the lack of pass through cost me a deer...of course all this is just one hunters pinion from a tree stand....good luck..

I switched from grim reaper. To rage due to lack of penetration.. Grim reaper are tough but not as sharp and with that extra blade push through hard..IMHO.. I am shooting a fairly quick bow and I rarely passed through with gr I have had a pass through with 90% of my rage hits even the one shot through shoulder blades..
