  1. Lmao..lol...would he cheaper than buying or leasing!!
  2. Ouch.. What part of NY is this?
  3. Will do. In the past I have paid as little as 20 cents an acre for 250 acres .just to make it an honest deal..lol I know this isn't the norm though.
  4. Exactly, I am not sure what the exact law interpretation is, but with no posted signs and lack of any other delineating features I would think it difficult to enforce a traspassing charge.
  5. I hunt a few areas, large tracts of woods and swamps that are unimproved. Many of them are unposted with very little to no old fence lines, tree rows, etc.. I do my best with tax maps or even get the owners to walk the lines( many times they don't know exactly where they are) to stay within the are that I have permission for. It would be pretty easy though to be a 100 feet or more into the wrong piece. In my experience though if its not posted and you haven't walked blatently into their piece everyone is understanding. If they are real worried about you being ten feet over the line they would post it.
  6. Solid 6" of heavy packy snow out there.
  7. Yo dude , didn't happen like either 1.. Lol
  8. I am not going to say that I would definitely not shoot a deer a few minutes after legal hours.in good light... I am going to say that I drive 62 in a 55, occasionally do a rolling stop at a stop sign. For those that follow the rules to the T, congrats..you are in the large minority. The rest of you are more than likely pretending to be holier than the , over the internet... I am a big beleiver in following the spirit of the law,not blind allegiance. Now, just as if I was driving 80 on a crouded street I would expect the book to be thrown at me and priveleges revoked.

    Mt. Morris

Was not the greatest of shots.. the buck was quartering heavily toward him and the arrow birdied itself in the brisket/ backbone area . Not very good penetration. The arrow barely punctured the lung cavity. This put the smallest of holes in his"bellows" he could still breath but not very well.there was a fare amount of blood in spots with the occasional foamy spot...like I said a lot of perseverance and luck was involved in recovering.

    Mt. Morris

I know for a fact this one came from just outside mount morris last year. Grossed a little over 150 something? Buddy of mine shot it. 4 of us spent close to 6 hours tracking him. A lot of luck and a little skill involved after jumping him out of his bed at 1st .went back at midnight ,tracked for another 1 hour or so, ended up jumping him again..left, and came back in am: and found him hrs later.. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk
  12. Oh yeah! All mine were bow kills.. I saw lots of does and a bunch of small bucks. Seems like the big boys were just starting to move when we left. Good luck!!.after comeing home and seeing the wife and kiddo for a few days,I'm ready to go back, love hunting those bottoms and ridges..
  13. Thanks for posting FourS.. Happens to be our meat pole , lol..between the four of us ,you, and a few others we got a pile..I couldn't buy a buck this year...so I shot does ,passed on a lot of little ones and settled on 3 big ones. For those 'worried" about the hanging venison, its all cut up and in the freezer. Except for a few meals we already ate...lol
  14. Nice! I did the same a few years ago. Then I decided I wanted a bear skin rug and haven't had one come by since..lol
  15. Montel and shows like that are/were pretty popular..highly entertaining to watch idiots arguing. Never was on the show , would like to think that fellow hunters would not want to her associated with such.
  16. OK , OK!!! Do I really have to be the the 1st to vote to close this thread? Mostly nonsense, with nothing to be gained, kinda like watching Montel . Any 2nds?
  17. In my experience, I have had no problems shooting deer standing IN the brush.I have killed many deer with my 308 pushing handloaded 125 gr bullets at over 3000fps(very "explosive"). In the brush. By this I mean a clear line of sight with brush within a few feet of the deer. I know, through the scope, I could clearly see the kill zone, but I highly dought all of my shots threaded their way through without hitting some twigs.
  18. No wonder, when I type "does", it looks funny...lol
  19. Hey G M. ! I am sitting in a tree right now in Letchworth and have seen 8 does so far this am: ..Where the heck are all the bucks this year? I'm blaming it on a late rut . Over the course of the last 10 days I have only seen 8 bucks ,1 had at least a 17" spread and only 3 points total(dam ar...lol)..most years I connect on a decent buck and see at least 20
  20. I've killed quite a few deer with the reapers. With good results for the most part. Even though I shoot a faster bow I have not been overly impressed with their sharpness though. I figured I would give the new rage 2.3" with the cut on contact tip (razor sharp)a try this year..so far so good 1 agent through the shoulder blade and stoped just shy of hide on other side died within 40 yds..Another .quartering away shot got liver and 2 lungs, broadhead was buried in the dirt..that deer went less than 100 yds..both the grim reaper and rage blades were junk after passing through shoulders..In my experience ,I could shoot a deer tomorrow in same spot with the same head and have totally different results. I swithed to open on impact a few years ago for 2 reasons. One my bow was out of tune and it was too close to the season and I didn't want to tinker. 2_ most of the time my poorly hit deer are hit too far back and not in bone. Therefore a bigger hole seemed better..lol
  21. Beautiful buck!! Great job..
  22. Nope, not yet. I will be there starting 11/7, Counting down the days..lol
