To me, it is pretty simple .End the deers suffering. Take the punishment if you get caught. You know the rules.

That's why I try to go to areas no one else goes to. .too far,too steep,too wet,etc... If someone comes through ,oh well..they didn't expect to see anybody either..lol..Loosen up guy, happens when hunting public land. Unless you are hunting a 5 acre piece there is room..

Hopefully he will slip up soon for you...He is tall..not on Letchworth is he ? I missed an opportunity last year more than once on one we nick named gimpy because he had a limp..similar rack..

There are many types of hunters.. I think its human nature to compete with others.None of it should really matter.. Do what makes you happy as long as its legal... I have had the oportunity to spend 100s of days hunting. So It probably explanes why I have better luck( on the same piece of land) than many..At the same time sometimes being lucky is all it takes..Depending on the hunting spot I ussualy taylor my hunting to what is there. For years I have not shot a doe or small buck on our farm,hoping for a better year the following .as it turns out somebody else in the area inevitably will not be picky. But I gave the deer a chance . that's all I can do.I do have other places I hunt. If I was limited on time or hunting spots I'm not so sure I would be so fussy.

I carry a single shot.....so if I get more than one shot off it is one dumb deer..lol

Bucks seem to be chasing the does now . 4 have fallen in the past week within my neighborhood . I have not had the opportunity to make it out much since my 11/6-11/18 vac..During that time I saw little buck movement and bucks still grouped together(unusual for the rut). Seems like a late rut as Charles A. predicted .

I know in the area around home 6a there have been 0 dmps issued for a few years now. Not seeing a significant increase in deer #s yet.. Not sure if we will see dmps issued again within the next 5 years.

Yes , this is what always gets me I will sneak and and scan for awhile and then I cannot take it anymore i pick up the pace. inevitably within 1/2 dozen steps the deer explodes out of the brush.. ( didn't know I had ADHD until watching a program once that listed 10 indicators and i aced every one )..lol

I am not a great stillhunter myself. (not enough patience). A fellow I know kills his deer every year on stateland stillhunting. it takes him all day to walk 3-4 miles .

That is what I shoot as well. Seems to hit them pretty well for a muzzleloader. I have had both pass- through and shots that expended all of their energy on the deer. Longest shot with my encore was 150-160 yds with 100 grains of pyr..pellets. She never made it out of the field (less than 100 yds). Seems like the closer they are the more the bullet expands and imparts more energy to the deer my pass through shots have all been longer. Coincidence?

I am guessing anything after April was considered fresh, therefore illegal .

The last bunch of years I have taken deer to a neighboring meat cutter..vacuum packed and stored with the original tag..Not aware that they have to be individually labeled..

In recent years i have started packing most of my hunting gear in a pack till i arrive at my stand .Then sit until cool down a little and then get dressed.. I even carry a wool blanket on those cold and windy days..

Doing a good job mods.. now about the 30 acres of prime methane producing habitat we were talking about...

I am good for the last 10 years , before that not so much.

None of the bordering lands or my land is posted. Same owners and family for at least the last 40 yrs. We all hunt and know where the property lines( old fences,stone walls,and split rails) . Seems nice . Bound to change someday though.

I am always picking on one of my best friends.the only way you make it onto his property without knowing it is because you shielded your eyes from the glare from all the signs and stumbled past.

Lol...Not advocating tresspassing ..just saying it can happen easily in some cases without intent..
