  1. Nice!.. I had always wanted one mounted on my wall, but was waiting for 150" + .I finally decided that the next nice one I got I would have mounted...I'm planning on shooting a monster this year with my bow...Of course that's the idea every year..lol..with a gun I'm a deer killer with my bow I still fall all to pieces...won't even start to tell all the stories...
  2. A couple more... The 1st one is the only one I got with a bow a few years ago... Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4
  3. I've had pretty good luck over the years. Only 2 ever broke 120". Still trophies for me. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4
  4. Hunt a few spots around parishville, and Russel once in a while. Years ago I've hunted near Greenwood falls in Pitcairn or Harrisville.
  5. On occasion. Wich part of 6c are you hunting?
  6. You know, OMG, I have seen arrow length done that way but never draw length. And to be honest I've never checked using using your method. Maybe I've been overlooking anothe legitimate way...lol thumbs up(not smart enough to use the goofy characters with my phone,ha)
  7. Great way to get arrow length.. doesn't do much for draw length though. Getting the correct draw length for for you and your shooting style is one of the most important things effecting your accuracy and comfort shooting a bow..odd anchor points, peep heights,etc... are quite commonly due to having the wrong draw length to begin with, and addapting to it.. Like everything else though.. not much is wrtten in stone..more than one way to skin a cat...lol
  8. X2 unless you have a really good bow shop that you trust I would double check yourself... I shot 29" and 30" bows for years and was told they fit me...in reality I shoot 27.5"...lol
  9. Rough idea ... wing span divided by 2.5.. Was spot on for me.
  10. I shoot a faster bow and medium weight (400gr) arrow for my 65#s. Faster bow helps make up some of the speed I lose with my t-rex arms(27.5 dl) and makes yardage judgement errors less consequential. If I were to limit myself to 20 yds or less I would shoot a 500gr arrrow...lol
  11. Cool!! Hope it makes it a little easier to bring a nice one in..Inspires me to get going on some of my own.
  12. Not trying to offend.... Under no cercumstance would I recomend this shot to a beggining bowhunter.. Broadside or slightly quartering away shots only.... I wish someone had beaten this into my head when I 1st started..
  13. Back up! I mainly practice 50 -60 yds...makes those 20-30 yrd shots seem easy.. Big confidence booster.
  14. He had lots of blood and pink foamy blood too.. we waited 2 hours any way..tracked him 200 yds..jumped him Up in the dark.... Not being too bright and encouraged by the foamy blood we came back at midnight.. jumped him again 300 yds later... . The next morning... Very little blood and another tough 3 hours of tracking...we found him. One blade from the broadhead had barely punctured the chest cavity... Chances are if we hadn't tried to track him, untill the morning , he would have been laying where we 1st jumped him 200yds in.
  15. I have taken that shot with success. Normaly I would pass it up ,not a very big target.. Close friend killed a nice 150"+ buck last year with that shot. 1/4" one way, we would never have found that deer.
  16. I've been experimenting with rattling and decoys ..without any luck yet ...lol...More than one I have turned a spooked doe or buck(scared by noise, not smell) around and back for a kill shot. I have also grunted at a nice 10 point that was just about to walk out of my shooting lane. He must have thought it was a starter whistle, because he turned on the afterburners.
  17. Sorry, not from that area. I do make a trip to letchworth every year. Everyone says that the deer #s are really down on the park but it is much better than what I have up here. Btw... don't go to where that picture I posted shows ..lol.. I was just bustin your chops.. there is deer there I am sure but you have to crawl through most of it..
  18. I am absolutely positive if he sets up just above the river, in the southernmost portion of this Letchworth picture, he will be within 200 yds of a nice buck... May have to crawl 300 yds through the nastiest brush I have ever seen... And, if it is Nov ,drive the buck to me ...lol Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4 Beta
  19. Great job! A few hints you may or may not know..... Always shoot bow with broadheads( many bows will not hit same spot...need to be tuned or resighted) well before hunting season, so you can fix any problems When in a treestand or any other awkward position, bend at waist, do not drop or raise arm.
  20. My girls won't let me move downstate for 2 months ..and much of my original hunting grounds around home are being leased up on me.
  21. What is the average price/acre to pay for a lease in NY? I would Iike to approach one of the local farms about leasing 1000 of their acres. Not sure what the going rate is and how many other hunters I may have to get in on it to afford it.
