  1. Nice buck..great story too. Sometimes you just have to be in the right spot in the right 5 minutes..lol
  2. I don't have any trail cams ..yet.. A few friends do, though. They are already pretty good hunters.. Now with their cameras they see just how many different deer are out there that you never see during hunting season..lol
  3. I missed the story..Were you hunting for a bobcat, or deer hunting when it came through?
  4. True..lol.. I saw one chasing some deer once... I heard a screech,A group of deer ran through, then a fairly large bobcat came after... Not sure if the bobcat was really chasing the deer( what would a 20# cat do with a full size deer) but that is what it looked like..
  5. Wow ! That is a big cat..I have never seen one that large.
  6. Hell..I have 100s of dollars in camo, but still kill 1/2 my deer in blue jeans and a fleece pullover or hoody..I usually don't break out all the "fancy " gear untill I go on my southern tier trip... Gotta look the part ya know..lol
  7. In theory. A perfectly tuned bow will stack broadheads with fieldpoints..some bows seem to be more finicky than others with tune..if everything else is good moving the rest when broadhead tuning will help bring them to the same point of impact.. But ...cam lean ,hand torque, and a whole list of other thing effect it also... I ended up switching to mech heads a few years ago because of poor tune.. I'm back to fixed blade heads after a new set of strings and a professional tune.. As much as I follow this stuff I'm still not capable of fine tuning my bow(seems to be one ofthe trickier ones)
  8. uhg..uhg....real men use clubs..lol Sorry, can't help it. Everybody has an opinion....... Some are just wrong...lol..its all good.
  9. Wow, some nice bucks.. that one has a real distinctive high rack.
  10. I am confused too.. Early...I'm supprised you have boken down and used this new fangled girly equipment we are using to gossip and chat like little girls on the internet .lol
  11. 100% correct, not sure on the irrisponsible part.. your odds of being attacked by a dog is far greater even if encountered as seldom as a coyote..Everytime someone leaves the safety of ones bed, you put your own life on the line.. It seems to me that there are things worth stressing over and some not.. I guess it all comes down to perspective.. In my experiences they are harmless towards people for the most part......on the other hand I would be the 1st to jump, scream like a little girl, and possibly shoot a man eating snake if it got to close..lol
  12. Ojai... Lol.... See what I mean..dam spell check and dyslexia don't work well together..Feet= deer
  13. I'm with you there. I try to kill everyone I see also..There is one spot we hunt that you can walk 4 miles in and cross 2 deer track and at least 1/2 dozen coyotes.
  14. I am having a broadhead dilemma this year.. in the past I shot muzzys with fairly good success..then a few years ago ( due to a poorly tuned bow and lack of time) I switched to grim reapers. Killed a few feet with these including a fairly large bodied 10 point.. I was not liking the penetration myself and a few of my buddies were getting..rarely a pass through.. You could walk/ jog down the blood trail though on a properlyy hit deer.. I also reasoned that a poorly hit(guts) deer would sustain more damage and be easier to find. On the other hand a poorly hit deer (bone) would sustain less damage and be harder to find.. Now this year, having a tuned bow, I switched to st viper tricks. 1st shot was litteraly staight down 30'.. 5' away. I screwed up probably shouldnt have taken a shot, due to the terrible shooting position. ..Hit it back in the guts. Arrow covered in $$+& and slime.I and 2 others spent over 3 hours combing the woods. Not one single drop of blood(I usually like to pride myself on my tracking abilities too) Next shot perfect double lung shot..she ran maybe 100 yds She was the hardest tracking ,well shot deer I've seen..lol took me 30 minutes to find her.. So needless to say I am not sold on either one. The only thing I can say is a standard broadhead always opens. But I think size does matter..
  15. Lol...How many of you guys grew up or live in the cit/town ? Sorry if it offends, hard to convey attitude over the internet.Growing up in the boonies/woods, I always get a chuckle out of threads like this. There is always the off chance of an animal becoming aclimated to humans or sick.. I'm betting your odds of being attacked by a coyote in NY is only a fraction of a percantage point higher than being bit by a shark.....in the Adks
  16. There are a few spots that we hunt in the northern adks that have more coyotes than deer. Seems that way anyway.. I personally wouldn't be worried.. even in packs they leave pretty quickly when they realize what you are.
  17. ..No.. just looks it.. I have a couple pretty big(5yds across) openings around me at the base of some apple trees.
  18. I have seen 3 deer within bow range for a total live weight of 150# ..maybe..lol..holding out for something larger. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 4
  19. Yes, they changed it up a little this year. I think it is 1st come 1st serve not a lottery like in the past. Except for archery and that is a self issue.(fill out form and carry it)
  20. I do know a few law law enforcement individuals that have signs against the safe act in their front yards..
  21. ncountry

    Help!!

What the guys are saying makes sense..remember.. rotate your elbow out vs bending it out. I am betting your draw length is long also..but it's awfully close to hunting season to change too much..
  22. My daughter is getting close to turning 10 and is on this kick to run a mile in 7 minutes or less. Now I was never a long distance runner I did the 50 yd dash and 4x100 m sprint in school 25 years ago ..lol.. We have started at 1/2 miles and have it down to under 4 minutes.. but at the end i would love to see one of those NFL oxygen tanks sitting there ..lol.. Another week or so and she will be faster than me.. that's all I have... lost 10# so far maybe i will be under 230# (1st time in 5-10 years)before nov 6. Those hills at Letchworth kill me every year..
