  4. G-Man

    Well....

Well my friend shot a beautiful 8pt today and while coming back from town I saw what I thought was a deer laying in a neighboring field, so I call him tell him I think I found your buck!! He told me no he just gutted his, I said well there is a dead 10 point here.. upon closer examination I see a 30 cal hole in it, so call to dec made, lots of reports ,and long story short I got to keep the meat, but dec took head, and cape for evidence. While capeing it we found the bullet.more evidence..
  5. Never Buy FROM Lowe's OR Home depot, The GEY A Lesser PRODUCT It's Not The Same As A dealers, Yes YOU Pay More At A dealers,But YOU GEY Better quality, A John Deer Sold At Home Depot Is Not The Same As A Dealers Same model, The Serial Is different, THINNER steel, ect, HUSKVARNA Tools Are Not The Same either, Go To A Dealer AND compare. That is the big box way the will buy so many units at this price and to make their item fit for mass sale they drop quality , but sell millions. That's your biggest problem shopping there.
  6. If it falls in sight I don't wait of not I don't even look for arrow, go back to house eat and watch a movie, then go look
  7. There is a place in cuba open on 305, next to old ice cream shop
  8. There is a place in cuba open on 305, next to old ice cream shop
  9. Poults are born every year, predators and pneumonia are the 2 largest mortality factors, 1 you can can't role the weather not so much, but if the hen can cover her chick's on the ground and keep them dry they will survive tought to do when being chased by fox and coyote, fisher and various raptors, predator control and habitat are your best friends in this endevor
  10. Pygmy has it right , 10 to 1 hens to toms in the spring seems about average here, I always target a hen in the fall just for that reason
  11. Unfortunately it's the legislature law the dec doesn't make up the stuff it has to follow..
  12. Yes if you want big bucks close. The season during the rut to all hunters...as for breeding a 6moth old button can breed an mature buck will only breed 3 to 5 doe, if he has to do more due to lack of other bucks he can expend to much energy and die as his reserves will not carry him thru winter if he is breeding doe that keep recycling every 28 days
  13. Here is the reason to teach a crossbow course as an instructor you need to have 5 years experiance with said weapon, it hasn't been legal that long, so what can you do to use it , throw it in as a muzzleloader and make it legal implement for hunting, I expect a course to be in the archery within 2 years.. as well as full inclusion at that time.
  14. I am always amazed at the deer that come off non ar areas that get posted... haven't really seen those ar areas in ny post some big ones and it's been a few years now... looks like some people just do management voluntarily pretty well with out mandates...
  15. I have way to many hens and success is all related to nesting and predators in spring, I have trappers here till feb ,with the stipuLatin they hit coon hard for 1st month, then can hit fox and coyote, The season was shortened to give the people complaining about numbers feel good legislation, 1 hen in Fall is nothing, they have no idea about how many fall hunters there are as tags for spring and fall are bought together, mostly as a guy who says well if I see one in the fall.... Sping weather, and nest raiders are the problem along with decreasing nesting habitat as fallow fields are put back into crop production and or grown up into timber vs tall grass and brush. We had a good hatch this year and numbers tripled. A hen laying 8 to 12 eggs will do that in a hurry ...
  16. Well 7 gobblers under the, stand this am , 2 seperate flocks of hens and pouts around this past weekend. Season closed over 60 turkeys seen in 4 days. Why was it shortened again....ugh
  17. Wait it out , doesn't seem like your over hunting it..
  18. People that use flashlights walking to their stands waving them around like light sabres Atv riders who need that to get to their stand when they are neither old or crippled, just to lazy to walk, leave it at the truck and if you get something get it to drag it out. People who want to tell me how to manage my land for monsters who don't manage their own in any way shape or form The new hunter that knows it all and shows no respect to the old guys in camp that can read a woods better than the guys Google Earth ever thought of doing. People who apply for doe tags and won't shoot a doe ... ever... Guys that hunt for horns and don't take the meat. Any person shooting more deer than they have legal tags for.
