  1. Ok have this one on my phone.
  2. I'm more concerned about being in the right spot to get a deer than the right tree for my stand, climbers have a place but they are very limited when setting up on the right spot, a set of rapid rails and an aluminum hang on (lightest I have are old loggybayou hang on lites) are much more versitile and will let you be in right spot regardless of tree type..on public or private land
  3. I preFer the sticks and hang on to a climber any day, buy. Aluminum! I have 2 climbers haven't used them in 15 years or more, I now have 35 hangonand various sticks, much more versitile crooked limb trees, and trees to big for climber.
  4. Happens sooner or later to anyone who has to draw big weight, unless you shoot year round, dozens of arrows. You will blow out the shoulder I can't count how many friends and family have blown out their rotator cuff. 50 to 55 lbs will kill anything in North america.
  5. 4.5, legs just seem short enough and not enough sag in back, I'd still shoot it...
  6. He used the muzzleloader die only tag on doe instead of 3m doe tag, the he put buck on either sex tag, leaving him with only 3m doe tag if I follow what he is saying correctly, he's shit out of luck till nov 1 then he can buy any leftover doe tags for different area.... the message here is use the proper tags you want to the 1st time... now he's stuck hunting 3m till gun season for doe with bow unless he gets a tag signed over to him or can buy one that is unissued after nov 1

  8. Nope and they will prolly find an error in filling out tag and give you a ticket or at worse take the deer
  9. If you have the survey you have GPS coordinate just plug in to mapping app and walk along line, I paint the trees as well as put posted signs up (people and critters pull signs down, paint is harder to remove or cover.
  10. Hearing has given away more game to me than sight, I leave my ears uncovered and will use neck gator and cap ,I even cut ear hole out of my cold weather facemasks
  11. 9w, some small buck harassing doe, they just move a little and go on, rubbing and scraping superseded due to bigger buck, large sign post rubs and primary annual scrapes reopened
  12. I love the old over the new, I have a 50 cal long rifle that is a tack driver! 75 yards with open sites cuts a cloverleaf! For longer range I have a .54 great plains with a vernier tang peep sight. New is ok but it feels so much better doing it with old!
  13. A little dusting this am, no wind perfect!
  14. All the info they get is available at the Noah weather site, you follow it for a while you can do it better than any weatherman
  15. Well flurries and a squall or two.. see what tonight brings, the woods may have a dusting by am
  16. I agree Doc, 274 acres of mine all posted and reposted every year, paint on trees on line, if you can't see it your blind, neighbor to north posted 1x and nothing thru woods, complains about tresspassers, usually a neighbor who he kicked off, kind of became a problem when the deer he shot went on. Neighbors and got kicked off his, mark your lines and be amicable to the neighbors...
  17. Wow glad you ok and sounds like people are bruised but not dead. ...
  18. My 8.5 was so tough the ground was like chewing on rubber bb's!!!!!
  19. Got to nyantlers page and you can read the whole story.
  20. I have an early dropping yellow crab that the dder eat before anything else, just like us deer have their preferences if it's not favored they will skip and go for something else
  21. Ok the first buck is 5.5 plus,I have pics for last 3 years, I apologies for 2nd pic, of it those thumbnails are small and I posted wrong second photo. the second is 3.5 have pics front 1.5 to present , the 3rd is either 3.5 or 4 .5, the pics I have of it last year make it look 4.5 and sheds that were found are more similar to a 2.5, and that would make it 3.5, either way it's a shooter around here.
  22. Aspen cutting and hinge cutting is very important, aspen are the main staple.winter food but if trees are over 20 ft the birds don't fly up, they should be clear.cut to promote cloning from roots, lowering the hight of an aspen canopy is critical. Most logging operations do not cut them and the grow get big and die as hardwoods move in they will not grow, the habitat and woods are now become mature. You want aspen patches bordered by older hardwood stands or pine/ hemlock/ spruce, you have to keep the hardwood trees out of the aspen, so cut the saplings and let the aspen re populate, the benifits of this is deer love young aspen as well!!!
