  1. But less deer is healthier deer and better for the herd in general..... it seems the management of game has been removed in favor of appeasing the hunters for votes in elections.. .
  2. By me hunter numbers have dropped considerably, as have "farm tagged deer "numbers risen. I think people have had enough of paying and getting more and more restricted. The media on deer hunting is almost non existant in ny, so nothing is seen for monies put into the system, oh wait we get a random s.w.a.g. on deer numbers and take by dec.... that may or may not be put in your local paper (if you even get a paper. Face it the general populous is completly in the dark about game and wildlife management.
  3. Imagine the drop if they went to one buck rule, let alone effect on local economy's dependant on having hunters bow and gun season.....
  4. So all this begs the question , when has the age of a deer taken become that important? You hear age structure for the benefit of the herd, but the herd has done fine without this age structure for 100 years. Plenty of deer to shoot and eat it's time people wake up and realise you cannot stockpile big bucks they are territorial and will keep others off their home range, older deer are smart and have learned to avoid hunters.if you own 10 acres the chance of you getting a trophy buck is minimal Esp if the land use around you is packed with other hunters, nys is not comparable to other states for two main reasons, hunter density and land use. Stop watching the media hype on big bucks and learn to enjoy the hunt, or save up your $$ and hunt elsewhere.
  5. Some trees froze good this spring and lost their leaves, although it sounds like forest tent caterpillars or gypsy moth caterpillars if it's an oaknwoods
  6. Now 150 to 200lbs, come fall 300,

    Kerosene

Nope its good, it doesn't seperate like gas as it doesn't have lubricant and anti build up chemo added to it, can burn a can that's 20 years old same as a brand new one
  8. Removing a object is meaningless, the hate remains, this is feel good lib bs.. if we ban and remove everything then it goes away, kind of like sticking your head down a gofer hole. Again great leadership in action, so now what they pose with rainbow unicorn flags and we need to remove those. Sad .. very sad., same reason if you agree with them removing the flag, you might as well give them your gun ,as I see them pose with those symbols of hate as well...
  9. This topic is the same when someone asks what caliber for bear... use common sense and pick the right bullet , and a caliber that leaves you a margin of error, not every shot opportunity is perfect, and if you wait for perfect you won't take much game.
  10. Ask in person or write letters, most people are to afraid to do either. Most that can tell you is no, some people prefer letters Esp with return envelope stamped inside. Most land owners I dealt with in the past just wanted to know if you there and where.
  11. Morgan Freeman said it best when asked how do you stop racism,"stop talking about it" mike Rowe also said it well , removing a flag is only removing our rights, removing does not remove the hate , though if you think it does, then where do the bans and removeal of your rights stop..
  12. Think on this, they want us to do exactly what we are doing, when people feel they can not say anything or do anything for fear of retaliation of offending someone of another race...they will retreat and segregation will form its own groups..it will be a reaction. This is not helping diversity but will only create segregation on commonality Humans <---stupid
  13. Just a little history it was not flown Just by southerners who owned slaves https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Town_Line,_New_York
  14. Proper bullet , but why unless it's the only gun you own much better calibers that allow for margin od error available.
  15. And more importantly.... http://bearingarms.com/can-gay-couples-open-carry-ar-15s-washington-dc-result-obergefell/?utm_source=gpfbp&utm_medium=fbpage&utm_campaign=gpupdateI'd like to see this used against the safe act in new york as well...
  16. Yeah not bad for a 15 year old jacket thats been theu wash many times, i Think you can still buy bolts of material, I believe realtree bought pattens, seems their latest took quite a bit from skyline ultimate. They just use too dark of colors for my taste.
  17. Have orange on for gun season but you can see how much lighter it is, matches maple and beech and hickory trees much better than realtree or mossy oak who seem to think the woods are dark and moss covered...
  18. Skyline camo was made for the northern woods, its what realtree tries to do but fails, only problem was it was samll company and is cash $$$ strapped, nothing beats it for northern woods and treestand hunting imo, hard to find now.. http://skylinecamostore.com/pattern_gallery.php3
  19. true but I'll know what stays here come september, and a lot depends on terrain and habitat if they dispurse
  20. Still can beat the old skyline, I guess when mine wears out I'll habe to repaint them myself.....
  21. Wouldn't of had this problem if lifers were exicuted to begin with, approx 60,000 a year to keep in jail, and a million a day to look for them when they escape, immediate death by firing squad 325.00 (60 bucks per person an hr (5 on a squad )plus cost of bullets. Savings to taxpayers multi millions....
  22. Wow my family is f-cked (kid in the tree) photo bomb level expert.....
  23. I don't worry about bucks till september,as bachelor groups break up and dispurse, I can see whoppers in velvet only to have them dissappear in sept, summer home range can be very distant from fall ranges, so why get worked up and stressed out over them ..
  24. If you left cow there and it's dragged off , I'd say you have a bear...
