1987 Lee Lablanc New york State Stamp Print
G-Man replied to Goose chaser's topic in General Chit Chat
Stamps and prints are only.worth what someone is willing to pay for them... get sick of.going to banquets and the mc touting this is a limited edition... yeah ok it's the turkey federation edition, but there are ,artist proof, conservation, pheasant forever, north ameican, state, ect ,ect and all are the same print.... only.get one if you like it and if it's going to high for you find it in another edition....to answer your question the framing is worth more than the print 45-125 for an average size print... -
I agree a lot less walkers, drivers ,still hunters..seems like everyone is afraid of pushing a deer to someone else. ..

What was said already, but I like breneke originals.. little more stable in flight and more accurate than foster type slugs and fine thru improved cylinder as well.

I hunt a lot smarter now then when I started. Lot of scouting, and much less time sitting in woods,I use to think I had to stay out all day, now I hunt an hour or so in am and 2 hours or so in evening, with an ocasional 1 hr sit during the day if scouting warrants it, I learned to stay out of the woods for a good month before season, using aquire knoledge from previous years scouting and success to know I don't have to find that smoking hot sign and leave my scent everywhere. as for weapons tools I try to make it harder by using more and more primative tools to harvest game, and look forward to the atatal, being allowed one day. (Damn right I want to try it and I have my flintnapping down already to make the points)

Perfect time to spray and plant....
-
Spray the inside corners to kill just grass and over seed, clover I'd wetter soil alfalfa if dryer, I would not do whole field as you want the game in range 30 yards from woods edge, for bow.
-
So just ambushing a turkey? You must hunt till noon, birds by me are in woods till 9 or 10am, I'm done by 830 and back home...hunt smart not hard....
-
I'd spray to kill the grass then rake or burn and overseed

Looks to be cold, but snow is out of for cast by me. Spot across street looking very promising as last sat while planting apple trees, a tom ,3 Jakes and a hen were parading around in cornfield 70 yards from me . At 11 am. Some scouting this week and then roosting on fri, taking friends son out on his 1st hunt sat am, hoping he gets down early enough on fri to roost with me.

Decoys, see every tv hunting show and why you need them, then use yourself and spook 1/2 the birds away.. remember tv edits Weekes of hunting into a 20 min show. They may work in an open field or someplace very visable, but if you hone your woodsman ship skills and learn to set up properly when a tom appears it's in range and bang it's over. Setting up so the bird pops it's head up to see over a ridge, hump, brush so it's will be at 30 yards or so takes some practice and attention to lay of the land, I have only killed 1 tom in a field, every one I've gotten has been interesting woods where it has to show itself to see where calling is coming from. At that point it's shoot and game over.
-
I would never stalk a turkey, it's potentially dangerous. Getting ahead of one and setting up and calling is fine if thats what you meant. But calling is the best when minimally needed using woodsman ship to get close.
-
I go in very dark and get close to rooted birds. Haven't used a popupblind but carry a leafy camo fabric I can put up its 2 ft by 6ft. And I just use sticks and brush to hang it on..

This was a standing food plot 4 acres left for game all winter..
-
Still really flocked up in that video
-
find the bird for the am hunt, best time to do it and you can slip in close in the complete dark instead of waiting for one to gobble on its own or making one gobble when it gets light. The early.bird gets the worm and works great when they don't gobble in am due to crappy weather, you know it's there from evening before and can hunt it even when they are not vocal.

Sat Sunday cornfield finds...

Na, more junk to carry and unnessary, if you set up where a bird wants to be (scouting) .I truly think they spook more than they bring in
