+1 for WI products!! -
No they will slow/ stop quickly, knew a great archert(recently passed) who shot claybird and pheasants with fufu arrows. tought to find because the hunting community is set against taking moving/flying shots so not many are made.. kind of like promoting a 50 yrd shot at deer...the moral up cry is deafining.... the archer's shot ,hunting ability is only limited by his own personal skill and judgement the equipment is more than capable!

57 yard in an openfield with no/slight wind..regular practice to 60. Yes I would do it again... In my woods 35 maybe... The killing range of a bow is close to 150yrds. its the skill of the archer that limits the shot.....

maybe some are done via cellphone from a card reader in the field??

If you want a toy buy the sxs if you want something that will last your and your kids lifetime and do more than u thought possible buy a tractor!! need to take wife and kis along get a wagon! I had a friend who bought a 4x4 that he was going to plow snow with/work up food plots/ect. after trying to move 1 good snowstorm he bought a snow blower. 2 years later he bought a tractor sold the snowblower and uses the sxs for giving the grandkids rides..... that said go with a Kioti 25-35 hp will do just about anything you need. The lifting power(how much weight it can lift) is several hundred lbs more than any other tractor in its same class, and usually more than a larger hp model. it weighs more witch gives you more traction, has a long warantee. i know it looked at several different manufactures when i bought my own and took the neighbor looking for a new tractor as well we both ended up with Kioti's. Recently i had the satisfaction of lifting logs into a truck that a 50 hp kubota wasnt able to but my 38 hp kioti could!! 0% financing and free loaders are available now and will problably be extended or re offered again... -
pattern it when u get it... use differnent manufactures and shot sizes.. find what works best.

i get the same problem on heavy passing thunderstorm days.. not much you can do about it other than put a whiteflash unit there

the farmer probably gives out dmaps which look just jike dmp.. and the fact is even in areas where there are lots of dmp's available a lot of hunters apply get and never shoot a doe!!! i have a few friends in genesee county who get the tags so yahoo's from the city dont come and shoot all their deer...then they complain when all they see are doe!!! makes no sence to me... but im sure everyone know someone who gets doe tags and wont shoot a doe..... Besides a doe's home range is fairly small and it takes large numbers and a lack of food to make them move to a new area .. you can be overrun with doe on one 200 acre farm and a mile away there can be few/no deer.

I always turkey hunt in fall (have to get my thanksgiving bird!) All turkey hunting(spring or fall) is 90% woodsmanship 5% calling and 5% luck! You need to know what they are eating or will be eating..my neighbor laughs at me walking thru the woods in august with a pair of binocs looking for nuts hanging on trees and making notes what is where and such. I do the same with crops whats planted where/when it was cut, ect. After a while i find trees that hold nuts longer than others or produce everyear..all written down.. Then come the part of knowing the turkeys habits/roost areas and travel patterns. It all comes together reading sign/scratchings and maybe a stalk or sit will be in order.. Bonus is while im looking for all the mast for turkey i stumble into some great deer info as well!!

Glad u understand the destruction deer can cause to a farmers livleyhood... get sick of hearing "damn farmer gets nusience tags and kills all the deer"... well if they shot does and knocked down the population arouund the farmer he wouldn't get damage and need the permits....

Thats why it sucks to get pics of deer in velvet, once hard horns show up the bachlor groups start to break up and they dispurse.... i get much more excited to see buck with hard horn on cam 2 weeks before the season than i am getting a giant in velvet...
-
Better keep your options open...deer move with the season and with pressure..if people are in the oaks the deer will move to close cover nearby, and eat acorns by starlight...jmo

How do you keep the deer out of food plots???
G-Man replied to HUNT6246's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Your plot is small, and sounds like the deer population is high... shoot every doe you can this year! then add more plots. i started with a acre of corn and it would be wiped out by end of nov. so i am up to 7 acres of corn, plus i have logged my woods every 10 years for lumber or firewood. the resulting logging roads are planted into clover and trees that lean over it were removed for lumber/fire wood. (this done as a result of logging at no cost to me) then lightly ran over with a spiked planker(2x12x8') with 20d nails driven thruough. hand spreaded used and clover planted giving me about 4 acres of clover plot. eventually you can afford equipment from the profits from the logging. -
paid 500$ for a 57 ft at an auction last year... just make sure that they are listed for storage only. they arnt road worthy and are cheap.

we use an old tractor trailer body... 8' wide and they come in all kinds of legnths..
