as long as your are off road right of way your legal...
  6. i have a lot of stands, some are great early bow season, others are better later into nov, i have opening day gun stands, i guess my best stand is huntable in any wind direction on any day if you want a deer, it has had 57 deer taken from it since 1996. its 27 feet high 6 ft wide and 12 ft long. its my usual invited guest stand as long as there not afraid of hights .
  7. Got a few pics of a flock this past week... poults look pretty small im guessing at a july hatch.
  8. LOL... it use to sit in front of the mansion, started to get pretty bad.. we're a pretty lazy camp... 3 main rules... your can shoot what your tags allow but dont get mad if someone shoots something bigger .....no shooting deer standing on lawn if under 62,..... and your only allowed to hunt out of the hot tub if your 65!
  9. must be your 1st hard horned pic? nice!
  10. I have 3 bucks i consider personal shooters on cam. he is definatly one of them.. saw a buck ive been after for 3 years tonight ,, got a 1 pic of him. two years ago...avoids the camera unbleviably well. extremly wide tall and heavy,,, and has a double throat patch... thats target no 1.... was close to 170 two years ago as a 3 1/2 year old... geno still havent made it to town hall but these pics are 30 yards from property i told you about....
  11. the old cabin..a 72 x 15 trailer with mudroom addition..from 93-2007. the new camp 2007-present]
  12. you must have thickfoam or something in your quiver head.. mechanicals work best if just the tip is resting on a piece of rubber . the hood should cover the blades not foam. i have used a hip and quickrelease quiver with them and no problems with them opening......
  13. Well if they are across the street they will be on yours as well. Honestly i could care less if i get buck pictures untill they shed their velvet. They are in summer patterns and bachlor groups now. their range will move. the doe will dictate where the bucks will be come season. Last year i had no buck pictures untill oct. then i had 4 bucks that would make pope n young show up. i was fortunate to get a droptine i had 12 pictures of in 4 weeks. i had countless little bucks as well.. if you have good cover and food the doe will be there and the bucks will come. How many times have you heard i had pictures of and watched them big bucks all summer and 2 weeks before season they dissapeard!! they didnt dissapear they went to where they had cover and does to breed.. I have had pictures of a good buck in velvet only to have him shot 2-3 miles away by a friend.. same with his pictures of the droptine i got ..he had 1 picture in sept, and by oct 12 his home range had moved to my property 2 miles away... Its still early lots of times for pics... last word of advice ..the less disturbed your land is the better.. keep your camera in an easy access spot ..bucks dont like having their bedroom walked thru 1x a week... you can kill a good spot by checking a camera all the time.
  14. I've never had one open unless i bumped it into brush... and then i just snapped it back in place...
  15. The farm i hunt in delaware county is owned by an elderly man and his son. A give everyyear of a good smoked ham is well appreciated, but i like the maple syrup idea as well. And a good bottle of a fingerlakes wine even if not drunk by them is good as well... mmmm... maple smoked ham and wine dinner.....
  16. king kutter are not heavy enough.and do not allow any float. in their 3 pt attachment. try looking for an equipment auction, or farm tractor dealer. i picked up a very good dearborn 8' 3pt disc for 700$ made inthe 50's. i pull with a 35 hp tractor. or you could look into a small trailer for your current disc... grease does wonders you might need to replace some grease fittings. In general drag or trailer types do a much better job than 3pt. Howse makes a decent 3pt 6' disk. what you want more than anything is weight! Ability to change angle of gang is nice to let you pick how deep or agressive you want them to be. here is a site you can compare king kutter and howse. i recomend you get a disc that is at least as wide as your tractor wheels if not wider. as you can see a 5'howes is 100lbs heavier than a 5' king kutter.the 6' howse would be my choice as rear gang can float..but check your tractors 3 point lift capacity for weight..(depends on model and year) as to not get a disc that it can' t lift!! . http://www.northernt...matchallpartial
  17. move your camera or stand ? the bucks will be downwind of the doe trails.. they are still in summer patterns. Cameras are only good for showing you what is around right now. wait till they are in "hard horn" to start looking for stand sites.unless you see a ton of doe in fields(the bucks will hang back in woods/brush)then that wouild be a good early season ambush spot. . Now if next year bow opens oct 1 you'll want to hit the summer trails as bucks will still be in bachloer groups.
  18. buckwheats great but i would of overseeded it with some clover/alfalfa. nice to see critters in it though!
