Here is my 3 year old "spike" we call the devil buck he has always just been a spije that looks more like an impala , bit heavier this year and trying to grow some junk, always disappears just before season. Love for him to die...he did have almost brow bumps last year as well..

Make sure you stock the crayfish and minnows 1st and wait a year to let them really get established. Free permit from your countys soil and water district, and they may sell stock as well. A half acre pond can only support 200 lbs of fish with out supplemental feeding , so make sure your sticking ratios are correct .

The barn shows up on maps from 1902 but it was remade from older barn from what I can tell by looking at beams and posts.

Was popping up old broken concrete floor in barn and found these old ax heads.. not sure what little one is .. but bottom head matches hew marks on beams in barn.anyone know anything about vintage ax heads ??

As for weight, time taken has a huge influence. Much depends on rutting activity I've watched the same buck lose easily 50 lbs or more in month only to plump back up in a few weeks.

Every area is different sandy soil wears teeth quicker, but I am. Only confident to age by tooth to 3.5 after that it's kind of subjective imo. Can send them off for cementum analysis if suspect older. Age and antler characteristics are a bell curve,I believe it was at top of curve 2.5 .

1st scout scout scouting you ahould.positoon stand so shot will be 5 to 13 yards to expected shot...Height is what your comfortable with, movement is a bigger enemy than anything else. , if deer doesn't drop in sight wait at.least an hour . A good hit deer drop.fast.

Yes both can be used in bow season, or muzzleloader/ crossbow season , and all tags are valid late season Imo People that bow hunt and do not get doe tags In their area should always buy a muzzleloader tag as well as its a valid doe tag anywhere in state..

The ban is for hunting purposes before season would be fine the way I understand it. Sounds like it was spurred on by cell cam.cameras . -
Possibly brothers or cousins, had 5 similar bucks on camera.last year .

Yep, hens that lost nest try and breed again and re-nest. Been getting quite a few tom pics on camera lately

Finally got around to mounting last years bow and gun buck. Old piece of barn I'm tearing down for plaquebow is top. , gun is bottom

A spring harrow or rake to remove dead grasses after.cutting then a seeding of clover , alfalfa, birdsfoot trefoil. Good luck

Most.oaks inthis area lost their blossoms this spring to abnormal cold weather as did most.apples. gypsy moths can kill large.oaks if stripped.of.all leaves a couple of times
