Full inclusion will come at some point, and like ohio it will take decades till crossbow take equals bow take. Using an implement doesn't make one a good archery hunter. I watched many with crossbow try and stalk a deer and take a 50 yards shot only to have deer duck the arrow. Getting close to game is a skill that is learned its required of crossbow same as bow. What you will see is many expensive crossbows for sale in a year or two after full inclusion as those that pick them up do not understand the arrow arc at distance and deflect arrows and miss game. Or wound it try to take rife shots that don't work with arrows.. this is main reason it should be classified as archery equipment and course required ( no grandfathering in as muzzlerloader certificate use) the fact nybh and many others block this shows the complete lack of respect for the game they pursue. It would be much better for crossbow hunters to understand limited range and shot placement for hemorrhaging kill shots than allowing bird and small game hunters to flood the woods uneducated. ( not that I see that happening happening anyway as bowhunting skills are not the same as rifle/ gun skills. If the state had a constitutional amendment allowing game to be managed by a game department you would see many different things hunters want done in the state. But we have a legislature that has to vote to have a season every year and they place it under an enviromental organization that has a small game management section..

Need a dmp for area your hunting in antlerless season. Orange needs to be worn if using a gun ( a muzzleloader, crossbow is considered a muzzleloader in nys ,or shotgun )

My neighbor rides thru my property, Mows my trails and cuts up dead falls blocking them, he isn't allowed to rider from labor day weekend till end of Dec, and no riding from April to end of may.. has no issues with my request and is a respectful rider.

The best part of that is 10 % of the hunters take 90% of the game... being a bad hunter doesn't help so the 90% complaint is probably true

It's not that people can't get it done they pass doe repeatedly waiting for their buck. If they would shoot doe we wouldn't have need for this season plus most of units that have it are 99% private land, the land owners don't shoot doe now this won't.make them either...

I try and do my pruning in February. Did a whole woods thinning this past winter over 700 trees dropped to open canopy and create cover.. so worth it when you go back a week later and are kicking deer bedded all thru the woods every 50 yards vs seeing nothing but seeing 300 yards..

I would agree with 2 year old accessment . High hips.small shoulders is easy to pick out.

Yes not enforced so make it same.as all other species makes sense.. if you can see a beard on a tom a half hour before light you sure can see if it's a deer or not

Glad they made deer hunting standard times with all the other seasons start and end times..never made sense to me.

I have 51 navy , 61 army . Both are fun I like the 44 more honestly, I only hunt with 50 single shots though

This is the reason drilling were made in Europe 1 gun 3 barrels usually a double shotgun on top and rifle underneath ( of large caliber like 375 h&h mag)

Savage model 24 over under make it a .308 (would have to modify the 30-30)on top and 12ga on bottom

Got a 49 year old into archery after a year of crossbow.. was afraid to try it as it was made to sound so difficult.. so my old bow and new string and in 5 min shooing a 3 in group at 20 yards a week shooting 40 yard 3 in groups.. his words this isn't hard at all... Time we stop pretending it's an elite skill to shoot a bow .. in any form

You got a good gun , will be capable.of.more than you ask of it.. I still can't figure eoutnthebdraw to pellets so.much wasted powder. Loose loads quick and allows greater accuracy if you get into it where you want to shoot 200 yards..

Small seed like you want to plant doenst need disking , Spray gly, and plant before a rain to wash seed down for seed soil contact, if you can wait and then de thatch by dragging off trash would be best, I prefer spray wait couple of weeks spray again wait and then burn off trash and then plant. personally I feel strip planting will let you put everything you want in one plot . North or South the wind will travel the ridge. Any other and you should be above target as wind will swirl back onto top 3rd of hill. Which is where bedding should be. That's why stands should be on edge of ridge not in middle

From midges that come out of exposed mud, well drained land and clean water help prevent midges from emerging as crayfish, minnows eat the emerging midges larva. The water impoundment for humans is probably the driving force behind it surging in se ny.

Yep I have a few that come early fri am or Thursday evening, have a drink make a great meal. Then it's mad chaos as everyone arrives after work trying to get their stuff organized and then the guy that comes in late.10 pm and now he wants to drink and play cards while the rest of us are ready for bed and a early breakfast.. the relaxing and socializing is gone with the Monday opening.. and all the hunters are gone by Sunday night.. guys use to take the week off and you would have 5 to 7 guys all opening week.. and a few more would show up for the weekend again Those that do take off usually kill the best bucks during the week on Tuesday or Wednesday. Seems guys are starting to take some time again off after years of just weekends ..makes the week fun

I would hunt any wind but true north as true South in the am taking advantage of thermals. I would face stand north .. to much visual hunting imo need to learn to use ears..kill aot more deer that way. Use sun to your advantage so deer have to look into it in am or pm . That would require 2 stands on on extreme eastern edge and one on western edge. Can't cover it all with on stand in middle as you will be seen or scented as deer try and go one side or the other .
