  1. A boat would look better in that driveway.
  2. We did almost 4 bushels of tomatoes into sauce last fall . The sauce cooked for ever do to the amount of water last year. Roma and San marzonos. Probably left 3 bushels in the garden to rot because we didn't have time and nobody else could be bothered.
  3. As West and east branch are tail water fisheries they tend to be more consist in flows but the same damn also keeps the water cooler in the summer and can stunt the hatches . But cold water is way better than bath water for trout . It's a tail of 2 different fisheries through the same drainage.
  4. Problem is it doesn't take much rain to cloud the beaverkill or the willow . Rain just runs off the rocks into the river. Have had many a trip ruined by an afternoon thunderstorm. If it clouds up run up to the head waters they clear faster.
  5. That sucks . If your a Ford man my brother in law is a salesman at dealership in Horseheads .
  6. I carry a flask of Jamison's and a couple nice cigars when I fish . Nothing more relaxing than resting the water with a nip and a smoke.
  7. Just got my plants in today. They are root bound in the pot they are in rough shape . Plants weren't very good when I bought them on memorial day from the green house, but I got the plants I could . Wife and I talked about not doing a garden this year do to her shoulder surgery Friday before memorial day. Saturday she told me to go get plants Put in 6 celebrities 6 amish paste tomatoes 12 green pepper plants 2 yellow squash 2 zucchini 4 cucumber plants. That's about half what we usually grow. Time will tell if my tomatoes pull through.
  8. Dont know about croton as I have never fished it . But the kid said they were seeing coffen flies last night . He said they were big white 747 size flies. he got a couple of fish on the white wulffs I tied for him . As usual the green drakes appear to be hatching after dark for the most part. I'm betting your seeing pale evening duns or dorathea.
  9. If anybody is interested green drakes are on the beaverkill and willow . Looks like nephew had a good first trip .
  10. 350 yds woodchuck 760 pump 30/06 many years ago. 11. Catts ar still 1 to 2 weeks behind average for hatches . Should catch up in the next week or so. Friend of mine that has a camper at the DRC says no green drakes yet . Big sulphers . Here on the cohocton just started seeing golden stone flies.

  13. While I agree with the bill that I cant believe they waist time with this dumbass chit when there's more important stuff to be done . They wont accomplish anything meaningful then in week they are on vacation once again .
  14. Waiting for the farmers to get first cuts... going to open them up with the 204. I have a groundhog under my shed . 2 foxes with pups running the neighborhood. We already have confirmed cases of rabies not far from here. 22 is locked and loaded.
  15. Oh my God.... my buck knife is a dangerous weapon .. I have been carrying it for 30 plus years. And didn't know . It's only 3.5 inches of blade. I might just as well have been carrying a bazooka.... Dont know or give a damn about NYC . It's a tool I use every day in my job . I use it when I hunt .. fish . Have been asked about it by a local cop and a state trooper . Simple statement it's a tool I use for work . End of discussion. Never have had it go any further. Oh and it's always razor sharp. Tabloid polatition.. DA.... Villainizing an inanimate object cant believe people believe that chit.
