    Scaling

I guess that's one way of doing it . Lol
  4. A healthcare worker at the.hospital my wife works at tested positive with no symptoms . They started mandatory testing 2 times a week . Wife just got her first test results back . Negative. Thank god .
  5. My neighbor on my hunting property has german malamars. 4 or 5 . I got out of my truck to hunt one afternoon . While putting on my boots one of them came out of no where and chomped on my calf. I instinctively punched . It let go . The dog stood back growling . I pulled my glock 21 and was settling sights on its head when the owner yelled and I didn't shoot . Dog broke skin . I asked to see proof of shots . Her husband and I chatted after I settled down. I said I wouldn't report it this time . But if there dogs came on my property or near me again I would shoot to kill . They cried that the dog was a little high strung . And the others weren't like her . I told them my 45 didn't know there names .
  6. I have been thinking on this and I'm betting its wind burn stress from not being hardened off. It could come back but it probably will retard growth and production overall. Make is susceptible to disease and bugs . Not sure how many plants you have . I would replace it asap .
  7. Dont know .. could be wind burn did you harden them off ? If they came from a green house they got alot of weather in a short period of time

    Waders

I use the orvis silver sonic waders. My current pair is 8 years old and previous pair lasted 10 years . I dont wear Jean's in them as they cause excessive wear in the crotch ... friction . I have fleece I wear in winter and fishing pants that I wear in the summer. Padigonoias run small and tend to be expensive. Orvis has done away with silver sonics... dont knownwhat my next pair will be . Orvis makes waders in stout sizes.
  10. Said just about every fly fishing newbie... I thought every decent fly fisherman had to have a PhD in entomology. Some actually do .. 2 books that helped me along were Art Flicks Stream side Guide and Hatches by Caucci and Nastasi.
  11. Coffe cans great for bank fishing worms ... top bait container is better for wade fishing .... and dont try to put Dobson's in your swim trunks pockets ...
  12. I'm going to lay odds the fish were taking mosquitoes or caddis.
  13. I bed my plants... I lay down black landscaping fabric. Early cool weather I leave the fabric uncovered. Helps hold heat at night and on cold days . As soon as temps hit 80 during the day I mulch over the fabric with straw. Helps hold in the water and next to no weeding . Most garden plants peppers..tomatoes and such are what is referred to as sub Mediterranean. They thrive at 70 to 80 degrees. Sustained temps in the 90s will stress peppers make them drop fruit and blossoms. The key is consistent water and alleviate stress. A tomato plant or pepper that lacks water will developed blossom end rot . Most people think it's a soil calcium deficiency. It is but for the most part its the plants not being able to absorb calcium from the soil do to a lack of moisture.
  14. If the soil around the plant looks dry . I water . I have a large garden . I dont use a sprinkler as I'm on a well. I use a watering wand . I water a plant until I see puddles. Move on to 2nd plant same thing . Then a 3rd . By that time first plant has drained puddles. Go back and hit them all again same process. Water early in the day . Try to keep water off the leaves and on the base of the plant on sunny days . Water on leaves on hot sunny days cause scalding. If I have to water in the evening I water early enough ... 6 pm to allow the leaves to dry before dark . Wet plants make for fungal blights.
  15. Up here in Chemung county we dont plant until first week of June. And still there is a chance of frost. Soil temp has to be above 60 or seeds will rot in the ground
  16. Just turned my garden under first time this year. Have a load of composted manure coming . Picked up my plants from garden shop. 18 tomatoes .24 peppers, 6 cucumber,4 summer squash,4 zucchini , grandkids want pumpkins which I will start from seed . Should be in the first week of June.
  17. I never watched the video nor do I care to . Yes I find it disturbing. I dont condone that behavior.. I believe in some kind of psychological intervention . Community service ... I am not a psychiatrist nor did I play one on TV. Pay a fine do the time . When all that is accomplished.... I believe after reviewing all the end results on a case by case situation they could have their hunting rights back in 5 or so years ... If deemed acceptable. If found lacking no. But just throwing a 15 year loss of hunting privilege seems excessive.
