  1. Just goes to show what a chit show this state has become, all because they have no common sense. Have to wonder if they will offer bail for a whipped cream offense.
  2. I have never used a skirt on a tree stand . Never needed it that I was aware of . My wife had a tree stand with a skirt and roof . Blocked the wind kept the rain off and I'm sure blocked her moving in the stand . She tends to fidget after about 15 minutes on stand .
  3. I'm not big on skirts ... im too hippy makes my butt look big .
  4. Not sure if I would like it . Shot my budd colt . Could never get a consistent grip on the back strap.
  5. I have 4 of the older steel seat big game xl. They are great . Im a big guy and they are comfy. Wide enough I don't worry about hitting my side arm in the edges. No real noise that I can hear. Expanded metal foot rest you have to be careful not to scuff your boots on .
  6. 10 mm more than capable of taking deer within reason. All dependent on the shooters abilities. If I could find a lefthanded 1911 in 10 mm I could hunt with I would do it . I have a glock 21 that's a real shooter just don't like it enough to want to hunt with it . Never warmed up to the glock or I would buy a 10 mm to hunt with .
  7. They do make good fertilizer... just don't bury them with the heads on them. Kind of a stinky mess when you hit them with the tiller.
  8. I have shot a few deer with revolver. Ruger 44 mag has killed 2 bucks and a few does. Longest shot was 60 yards . 480 ruger has killed 2 bucks 3 doe and 6 pigs. 308 encore killed a buck at 120 plus yards . Love hunting with revolver.
  9. I learned alot from my grandparents. In my impatient youth I also missed some of their teaching. Many times I wish I could stop down and get answers to questions like when I was a kid. There was alot of life lessons in conversations while performing tasks that I really didn't want to do. I probably learned more than most kids today while turning over a garden and picking tons of rocks . I miss the stories of my gramps youth growing up in rural Steuben County. Couldn't imagine hauling full milk cans by horse drawn sleigh, in the middle of winter ,to the creamery 15 miles away. I have tried to pass on some of what I have learned from them to younger generations. Typically most don't care. Ihave trained many apprentice in the last 20 years. I make them do things my way. My name and reputation is on all they do .I tell them when they become a class A they can do it their way . My favorite from my gramps is " If you don't have time to fix it right the first time how will you find time to fix it a second time ". I use that all the time at work. I was told my department head has been using it in meetings to justify downtime. Nice to know someone is listening.
  10. Dont own a bike . I had my registration for my trailer out so my son could borrow it . It has the part on the back for transferring ownership. But on the front it says non transferable on the front .
  11. Ok ... not to piss in anybody's cereal bowl but tonight's haul..
  12. Lol class . Class went out the window when white trash from Arkansas had sexual relations in the oval orifice. How about when certain someone said when they go high we go low ... today's congress and politicians reminds me of watching British parliament. The stuff in the last 16 years has brought the perception of our country down to a third world country at best . Both sides are guilty . Most of my conservative friends are embarrassed to what we have become. Most of my few liberal "friends " think the ends justify the means.
  13. He can't we tried that a while back . He even looked awkward holding the rifle . Then I pissed him off out shooting him right handed with his own rifle .
  14. Yea I mentioned that. I have a 243 barrel for the encore rifle. He doesn't want to use it .. he wants to use his rifle . I get it.
  15. I set a pair of tennis shoes on the tonneau cover of my truck and forgot them . Next day I drove to work and they fell off . Wife found one on the corner and picked it up then found the other one a half mile a way.
  16. Did you leave them on the truck and then drive away ?
  17. I would like my wife and son to get a deer first thing so I can hunt the season at my leisure. Honestly if wife killed 2 I would really have no reason to kill another. I could then concentrate on steelhead fishing.
  18. I personally don't partake in the jalapeños. Thay are for the boys. Never warmed up to jalapeños as I find them very bitter. Hungarian hot wax are more to my liking. I don't grow hot peppers any more. Just the wife and I in the house now. The jalapeños are from my uncles garden . Swapped garlic for the peppers. My pickles are a cold pack . Grandmother's recipe. She called them sun dills. We add a couple wild grape leaves for crispness and of course dill sprigs .
  19. Stuffed peppers for dinner tonight . First batch of garlic dills are done . Garlic jalapeños up next.
  20. Not sure what kind but its 4 plants . 2 varieties. I haven't picked in 4 days so they were loaded up pretty good . Picked everything in the patch to make pickles. .will be better part of a week before I pick again. Made a couple jars of gerkins so all my small stuff is gone .
  21. I have another basket of squash in the garage. Wife is making garlic dill pickles today. Probably making sauce next weekend.
