I forgot one..I took one buck the last day of gun season a few years back using a friend's TC Encore in .356 Win...

I also shot a half dozen deer and one elk with the bow..A Darton SL-50 and a Hoyt Super Slam..However, I was never a dyed in the wool archer and gave up bowhunting a few years back, due to the fact that I felt was not proficient enough with the bow and did not want to chance wounding animals..

I have always been kind of a GUN NUT, though, which is the reason that I have killed deer with so many different firearms..Many of the chamberings I have only shot one or two deer with..

The ones that I have shot the MOST with are the 20 gauge, the 12 gauge, the .50 ML, the .280 rem and the 7mm08..

With all due respect....I suggest that there is a lot of bullshit showing up in this thread!

Early..With all due respect, I suggest you elaborate on your comment.

So far I haven't seen anything all that unbelievable..

If you are referring to me, I'll gladly give details..

OK, I'll bite....

State or Province?

.410 is OK down south in some states.......

It's legal in NY for crop damage use...AFTER dark, FROM a vehicle, UNDER a light and about every other circumstance that is illegal otherwise..

I haven't checked recently, but I am betting that it is also legal in SOME states for general use in deer hunting..

Well....I guess that would qualify for calibers you have taken deer with....not exactly what I was thinking.

I've done a bunch of culling.....I don't consider it hunting; but I guess that's not technically the question. B)

Directed at me?

Like Pygmy said, some of the calibers listed accounted for only one deer, ie: 375H&H, 243Win (one during the season in PA last year and one on a nusiance permit) 300WSM and 260Rem.

Also, I only killed one with the longbow.

I don't play the ponies, play cards, go out drinking, own a race car, race motorcycle, race boat, race snowmobile, golf, play softball, basketball, horseshoes, cheat on my wife or beat either my kids or my dog. I hunt when it is hunting season. I Love to eat venison, hang some horns in the garage and once in a great while hang one in the family room. Killing doe doesn't bother me. Killing spike bucks and 4pts don't bother me.

Also, I really like guns, reloading, bows and fletching my own arrows. I haven't killed a deer with factory loaded centerfire ammo in 24+ years and hope like hell I never do again. Loaded another 50 rounds today for the 22-250. Did I tell you I hate slug guns?

Some guys really take this stuff serious and are fortunate to have great places to hunt.

Maybe I should take up knitting?
