I'd say it is a young grey fox...I have seen( and killed) many of them under the light..

Possibly a young 'yote...Most coyotes I have seen were in broad daylight..Were'nt many coyotes around around back 30- 35 years ago when I was doing a lot of night hunting, so I don't have a lot of experience seeing them under the light.

Young Yote. A fox's tail is pretty bushy compared to that picture. Thats the first thing I noticed stearing me away from thinking fox.

And a grey foxes tail is even bushier.

I did a little enhancing on the pic and I would like to change it to grey fox, black mask around the nose and black tip on the tail kind of give it away i think.

It has that black tip, and it looks like a black strip down the tail, which tells me it's a grey fox.

100% certainty that it is a gray fox. Look at the vertical black bars on the muzzle- only gray foxes have this- not red foxes or coyotes. The tail isn't bushy because its August.

It means, LEARN HOW TO ID AN ANIMAL. If only 1/2 the body was in the pic, we woulda heard mt. lion, rattlesnake, polar bear, etc.

This would be much easier if it were in color...I say red fox though. I don't think Greys are that tall, at least the ones by my house aren't.
