send letters for crossbows in NY

You are playing dirty again (still.)  That's OK...I expect all crossbow pushers to cheat.

your irrelevant question.

That means you can be happy that I answered your question' date=' and shut up about it now. [/quote']

Ok now we have asked the question a number of times; simple question really; please back up these quotes with some facts:

"Crossbow growth comes at the expense of bowhunting".
"the proof is already evident that crossbows cannabilize bowhunters".
But still you supply no facts to back up those claims.

Your 1st attempt at deflection was to say that:

1) I "fabricated that notion"; that was proven to be your exact quote' date=' so now you accuse me of:

2) "[b']playing dirty[/b]"  and

3) cheating

Cool, "arrowflinger" now defines asking for facts to support his exact words as "playing dirty and cheating".

Translation: you don't having any facts; if you did you wouldn't be calling the cheater.

Translation: another really lame attempt at deflecting the original question. You might want to try again and put up these facts you speak of to support your quote. I asked in the prior post: can you do that?; your answer was quite clear that you could not.

Oh, gotta include that the last words of your last post was to say:

"and shut up about it now"

hum, he wants me to "shut up about it now"; a very talented debater indeed. Translation? Priceless!

Here you go...Bye the way  across the country hunting accidents of all kinds are only recorded  by officials ...If there is personal injury or significant property damage...and if the ppl report it to the news... Don't think that this is not by design....There are many more near mishaps than any one ever knows about  to both humans and live stock...Oh and before you get on a rant most of these are regular arrows...the point is when this can happen with ppl that actually have to practice ...what do you think would happen with ppl that think that all they need to do is sight in once and they are good to go?...By the way...just Thursday my neighbor with the camp next door asked me..."so we have bow road hunters now?" ..I said we've always had them why do you ask?...He said "I found several short arrows in my drive way."  I said " that is why I've lined are land in pines....those broad heads are hell on tires."

So Even with having to take 2 days of gun safety and 2 of archery ...we still have crap like this...Now NY wants to allow new ppl into archery with"ON LINE TRAINING!"..wow

December 15, 2010 - 23-year-old arrested for shooting                    hunting arrow into Brockport, NY home.

March 25 2009 - Another Archer Loses an Arrow

March 16 2009                    - Yonkers Woman Shot by Errant Arrow on Riverdale Street

April 24 2009                    - Man shot with arrow.

Ok, now back up your assumptions that these arrows were shot by people who practice. Whether you want to admit it or not, there are a ton of guys that head out into the woods during archery season in NY (and every other state) that practice a couple of times the week before season starts and thats it.

BTW, you might want to fix your links.

Its coming whether you want it to or not.

Doesn't mean I should lay down and let others work to violate my principles.

And there is where you are missing the point of the question that has been asked of you and you refuse to answer. No one is saying you have to hunt with one if they are included...so how would inclusion effect your principles? It could only effect them by the actions of others altering your hunting experience and we are just wondering how

...the point is when this can happen with ppl that actually have to practice ...what do you think would happen with ppl that think that all they need to do is sight in once and they are good to go?
you mean as do a very high percentage of compound hunters. Pull their bow out the night before the opener and haven't shot it since last year; normally in season shooting, and then as you say "think they're good to go". First off, noone has to practice.

Sorry, but the very high percentage of compound bowhunters that "dust off" the night before soundly defeats the point that you attempted to make. Slob hunters come in all forms. Bowhunting with a compound doesn't necessitate practice; that is a personal choice.

I already have given you facts about OH and VA.  Don't believe me?  Go and validate them.

Translation:  Just another lazy crossbow pusher.

You really shouldn't get all emotional about this....just stick to the facts, like the ones I have already supplied you. ;D

You have absolutely NO evidence of this.  Where are your FACTS?

Shame on you for your blatant misinformation and compound bashing.

Well you asked for some thing then disputed it as I knew you would...the Yonkers woman...well she and the other errant arrow  report were to show how dangerous they can be....What accusations ?...It is fact that state conservation depts. DO NOT make WRITTEN reports on hunting accidents unless personal or property damage occurs...ergo quote to me "You need to be bleeding or dead  before we investigate" that from a reg 8 officer ::)

I would love to validate those facts. I didn't see them before, why not post them up again and underline these facts this time so I can check them out; and then more importantly explain your quotes:

"Crossbow growth comes at the expense of bowhunting".  "the proof is already evident that crossbows cannabilize bowhunters".

Explain to me this proof that you speak of in the 2nd quote.

Thanks for the reply. At least this time you did not say I was playing dirty or call me a cheater for asking for those facts, and then tell me to shut up. Thanks again!

I already posted the facts that support the statement.  Go find them, and report  back.

You do play dirty....aka cheat.  You fabricate points of view, you ignore direct statements, and you try to twist bits and pieces of quotes to support your agenda.  You are a crossbow pusher.....you misinform, you misrepresent.

I have clearly stated the basis of my opposition to crossbows, numerous times.  Yet you want to make this an argument about the impact, or lack there of, if crossbows are allowed.  That is a separate discussion....yet everytime I point out it is irrelevant, you try to spin it back again.  You act like a crossbow lobbyist....a spin doctor.  Your behavior is intellectually dishonest.....and another example of why I view crossbow people with disdain.

Now if you are associating with bow hunters of that caliber ...that's your problem...I personally don't...all the bow hunters I care to associate with do practice ...a lot ...or belong to shooting clubs...

Personally even the slob bow hunters I've mentioned, I assumed practiced...they are slobs for their unlawful actions...but once again... you bring up a VERY good point....If the MANY ppl( according to you) that have taken the 2 day course for bow hunting, still don't take the time to practice with "reg." bow gear .....How could NYS expect ppl to taking an on line course, learn to know and use a cross bow properly?

Again thank you for bring to light other concerns all ppl sharing NYS lands should have...pricless

Yonkers doesn't have a bow season where crossbows are allowed.

So you have zero proof that you are justified in aggresively telling the non hunting public that crossbows in archery season will be dangerous to them and they need to fight the inclusion.

I'll give you credit for one thing - that is certainly one of the most creative fabrications and tactics I have seen used by the anti crossbowers. And one of the most absurd - especially with absolutely nothing to back it up. There are other groups out there using similar tactics any who are feverent anti hunters.

Hang around a busy proshop the last week to 10 days before the season opener. The overwhelming majority of people thru the door will be those needing work on dusty bows taken down for the 1st time since last year. Quivers with mismatched arrows and rusty broadheads.

Last year a shop owner I know got a call at 10 pm from a "bowhunter" who had just discovered his string had broken sometime over the summer hanging in the shed. Wanted him to fix it that night and site in in for him as he wanted to be in his stand the next morning. Tell me again how buying a licence and a compound or recurve makes someone a dedicated hardworking serious bowhunter. I could use the laugh.

Shame on me huh? Unlike you I have the facts to back up my statements, and yet once again you throw out the insults before asking for them. Kinda fits your style though doesn't it?

You probably don't get around much if you have not seen completely incompetent compound bowhunters. Either that or you are in denial that many compound bowhunters could give a damn about practicing.  I also guess in your world of evidence I guess seeing it first hand many times is not proof, so as you assume "shame on me". You sure do dish out the insults there flinger!

Lets see, I have bowhunted for 22 years and have chased game with my compound in NY, Ontario, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, and New Mexico.

1) A guy in Missouri, the first day he came into camp with his compound asked me for an allen wrench to adjust his sight which was shooting very low at 20. He said "it was on last year when he shot it last and doesn't know what happened.

2) a guy in my own camp in Trumansburg, NY was shooting way off at the practice target and asked me which way do I move my sight to get back on.

3) a guy in New Mexico Elk camp) came into camp with a bow that was still in the box and asked me if I could help him set it up because he didn't know much about compounds. And yes he intended to hunt with that bow.

Most guys that have been around have seen many blatant examples of the incompetent compound bowhunter, but I guess you are one of the few who have not, and therefore are willing to call those you have "blatant compound bashers" and then do the "shame on you" thing. News flash fling / thing; I am a compound shooter.

So all in all well done there "flinger". Keep up on your assumptions and insults, it is a direct reflection on where you are coming from.

Translation: again you have no facts but instead deflect while calling others:

1) dirty

2) cheaters

3) and tell them to "shut up".

I got to hand it to you though "flinger", you do score high style points for your side. Who could be a better voice for our side than you?

Perhaps you should have said ACTIVELY...for I haven't been aggressive in any of my actions...you need to read the post thrown out there by the pro cross bow ppl to see aggression...

What I'm doing is simple...I'm putting out questions and giving links...and letting them see discussions....Then suggesting that if they see a reason for concern...... that they were not actively sought out for their opinions on this matter..... as were hunters ..then perhaps they too should be writing to their representatives

LMFAO.

You list 3 examples and claim it proof of a "very high percentage?"

OMG.....that's priceless.

Of course there are some ...... but not most....and certainly not "a very high percentage."

That is a blatant lie....typical of the crossbow crowd.

Actually i had the opportunity to sit in on a town clerk meeting..(most exciting thing ever)a problem with the bow course is that walmart sells licenses like pez..and apparently doesnt check to see if you have the course..this may have been looked into..but if you bought a license and they gave you a bow stamp..yer no longer required to take the course

once again NY hunters, here are the bills, call your lawmakers and stop wasting your time with the anti hunting dumbfarts on this site.....

http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=A00469&term=2011

http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=S02973&term=2011

kinda funny how when you look back and see these bills are only a little something to help out hunters in our state that have disabilities, and you have all these anti crossbow wingnuts fighting this like it will be the end of mankinds existence on the planet, what a bunch of losers? ??? ??? ??? ??? ?

Once again you prove that you cannot be objective, and can only use dergatory language in place of a well educated, well spoken debate.

I do believe that xguns in the BOW SEASON will result in more hunter accidents, and because it hasn't happened yet, there is no data to refer to...at least here in NY, where as a NYer, you know there are a different breed of people than anywhere else in this country, except maybe NJ.

You really have to ask yourself who will be shooting a xgun?

It's not likely the hardcore bowhunter..rather the gun hunter who wants so badly to hunt during the bowseason, but can't seem to connect with that dastardly weapon...but hey..the xgun is the answer, or so he thinks...wrong!

Now we have guys doing drives, still hunting, and bringing all other gun tactics into the bow woods...while we are all wearing camo...no thanks.

This thread can go on for the next ten years, and it will be the same fight, over, and over...it's us, against you..plain, and simple.

But at least have the decency to be an adult, and explain yourself in a civil manner so that maybe xgunners will at least have a chance in the debate without looking like..well, I'll leave the name calling to you guys...

I won't.  I don't like loudmouth internet bullies.

Sitsintrees has proven himself to be a total joke.

NY antler and skyhunter are close behind....all blather and no substance, and nowhere near as clever as they think they are.

SteveB and WestNYbuck are sarcastic and close minded, but not total idiots.

If you are looking for a rational and reasoned discussion...I don't think we will find one here.

I see after reading the 5 or so pages that I have missed that our resident loudmouth bullie Sits on his azz is also a RACIST.

Wow, I think someone has to lay off the hard stuff before posting. That commie rant of his really puts anything he has to say as complete, and utter nonsense.

The xgunners should hang him from the tree he sits in so they at least have a fair chance.
