I think its suppossed to air 4/2 on History Channel.  Should be interesting.  I'm a little unsure on how to take all these new shows that showcase "redneck" (for lack of a better term) lifestyle.  Such as the Duck Dynasty(which I love watching BTW) this new show, Swamp People, so on and so forth.  I know that all the ANTI crowds will and do attack these shows, because it doesnt go along with the NeoliberalcommieRAT lifestyle, but I wonder...do these shows actually show a negative view on things to the person who is in the middle and isnt totally against these things?  OR does it help provide a little bit of insight for those people, hopefully showing that we arent so bad afterall.  I guess if they actually put in some real hard facts about things(such as deer in residential areas and the damage they can cause), any sort of education is good.

supposedly based in New Canaan CT

I used to bowhunt in New Canaan.  Lots of deer and some really good bucks in that area.

I went back there a couple if years ago to knock on some doors to find some new hunting spots.  My buddy and I were later pulled over by the local police and told, very nicely I might add, that it was illegal to knock on doors to procure hunting spots. :O

So with that we gave up on hunting that area of the state and the entire state as well. I'll stick with NY and IL!!

stiff town,& not the friendliest to out of towners but somehow they figured out how to film the show there so thats pretty cool. hopefully it will display hunters in a good light

TRUE!!  However, there were quite a few nice people that I met there over the years.  The biggest problem is that a lot of them wanted the deer taken out by means of hunting but they were afraid of what the neighbors would say.  So a lot of them became a NIMBY, not in my back yard.

For a time some of the local people started a website and listed the names and address's of their neighbor's who allowed hunting on their property.  Because of that a lot of these open minded homeowners bowed down to the pressure from the non-hunting community and closed their doors to hunting.  Yet they all bitch and moan about there being too many deer and the deer-auto collisions in the town.

Like I said it was a good thing while it lasted.  It was an hour drive from door to door and it was great for a one day or half day hunt.
