UpStateRedNeck
I -STILL- haven't had a chance to do my dang laundry. Too much insanity right now, definitely no time to let them hang dry. I better figure out some way to de-scent the dryer.
WNYBuckHunter
Take a hand towel or washcloth and soak it in scent killer or the scent free laundry soap and wipe the drier down inside and out. Pull the lint trap and wash it out with scent killer as well. Run a cycle on the highest temp with the cloth you used to wipe it down with and a scent killer drier sheet (you can get them at any sporting goods store or walmart). It should be good after that. Doewhacker
I am pretty bummed right now, they have flood watch's and alot of rain forcast for the next couple of days which means we will not be able to cross the creek to get to our good spot... :'( I guess we will have to figure on a plan B and hope that the water goes down for the rest of the season. Dakota Dog
The weather for saturday is not going to be the best in the moring but I will still be there. They are saying 60% chance of rain which is not bad but 20 mile an hour winds. I do not like that but never the less I am ready to hunt. WNYBuckHunter
They are only saying a 30% chance of AM showers here for Saturday.
burmjohn
Ahh it keeps changing... Now the forecast says 70% @ 8am with 20 MPH NW Winds all day long.

WNYBuckHunter
I hunted in snow on the bow opener last year. oh what I wouldn't give for snow.. Actually it sucked. It was that wet, nasty, heavy crap that stuck to all of the tree branches and leaves. That morning it was constantly falling and going down the back of my shirt and the woods were so damn noisy that barely any deer were moving. I only saw one little fork horn all weekend. Im glad its not doing that this year.
crappyice
To de-scent my dryer, I washed it down with baking soda and water and cleaned the lint trap well. Then I ran the dryer with old towels and put some sprigs of mint in the dryer with the old towels. I found it gave a "cleaner" more natural scent to the dryer...seemed to work and now the clothes are sleeping with pine boughs waitin for the opener. Fantail
I was going to go on & on about getting out there in the rain, but it wasn't so windy for the NZ opener. Bummer - how about push it back a day & take Monday off? No way - no way, well - if your camping somewhere and can sneek out between storms is one thing, but a long drive & tree surfing in horizontal misery rain is another. Just thinking how safe is that. CNYlungbuster
got two stands at 100% one at 80% and another ready to be put up based upon fresh sign and observed movements. With a wide array of ground blinds and old perm. farm stands only think left to do is laundry and get the backpack ready. I'll probably be sharpening my knife and getting the barn ready for some deer to be hanging in there. Just got a new (old) fridge to put in the barn to age deer if its gonna be warmer. Going to take all the racks out of it and put a bar arcoss the top to hang the quarters from. Even though I'll never be fully ready I got enough done so I can hunt lol. One more day .......... staying up late tonight so i'll sleep tomorrow night lol... like a little kid at christmas and it never gets old Good luck CNY

growalot
I've moved to the PC room...up so many times at night last few nights ...Mr B. not a happy camper :-\ .....I have to get up way before him and he's up at 4...so might as well let him get SOME sleep...lol....Dreams of bow hunting but coyote not deer?....then of arrow shattering and going through my hand ...thanks for that internet visual...and that my bow broke today... So I went out and practiced for the last time yesterday....first shot great ...but .. my bow soulded like a loose muffler on an idling car....got out allen wrenches and tightened every thing...noise gone ;D .....great practice and checked my 2 carbons every shot...on last shot I go to pull my arrow and only the shaft comes out ...no broad head or insert...the shaft has a 3in split in it....Thanking lucky stars on that one!!.....must have happened on impact....So I'm hoping all the scares are behind me and the season goes with out a hitch....now wheres that finger tab?.....hhhmm
