Whisker biscuit or arrow rest

The Whisker Biscuit is pure genius.  A great invention.  It is the best hunting rest for the money.  If you don't mind spending the money, a drop away like a QAD is slightly better.  The deer won't know the difference.  I used the WB effectively for years.  I only upgraded to the QAD because I wanted to be more accurate on targets.  The difference is so minimal.

Never been a big fan of my fletchings goin through bristles , not to say they don't work , but it's something I can't look past ... I've got the apache drop away and love it! Keeps the arrow contained until its time ...

Doesnt affect it enough to matter. Thats a fact. I shoot with guys that shoot drop aways, and my groups are just as good as long as I do my part.

One thing to consider with the WB is the noise factor. My friend shoots one with aluminum arrows and has spooked 2 deer drawing his bow on them. They were both on cold, calm mornings. He said it sounded like he ran a bow across a violin string when he drew back. This may not happen with carbon arrows but do you want to take the chance?

Scorpion venom biscuit spray. I have zero noise on draw. Id be willing to bet that his movement had more to do with the deer spooking than a slight noise. Deer do not have super hearing.

I used the Whisker biscuit for years & liked it but I love my QAD HDX

only reason I changed was I got sick of replacing the biscuits I shoot every day all year long

I would go through at least a biscuit usually 2 a year at $15 -$20 a pop in the long run it was cheaper for me to buy the QAD

Don't think groups were mentioned on this one. But to your point, maybe you need to start looking for new shooting buddies. :)

I mentioned groups because of the comment about a WB affect on accuracy. Its simply not true. Disagree all you want, but when my arrows are touching one another when I shoot groups (one reason I dont shoot groups often, I shoot spots most of the time when working on my accuracy), the proof otherwise is hard to deny.

What type of vanes are on your arrows??

I used a whisker biscuit for a lot of years.  Used to hate how it ate up my fletching.  I switched to blazer vanes and that solved that problem.  I wanted better accuracy for archery league so I got a QAD drop away.  That thing is awesome!  I'm never trading it in.

Blazers. BTW, that WB spray I mentioned takes care of any freezing issues, etc.

Buy different vanes; buy some magical spray, etc to fix a whisker biscuit. Or just buy a different rest without these problems, easy choice for me.

Any rest needs some maintenance. Dont fool yourself. You should be waxing your string, lubing the servings regularly, so the spray just gets done then. Ive always shot Blazer vanes anyhow, so no difference there. Id rather squirt a little spray on there once a month than take the chance of some mechanical issue at the moment of truth.
